Nice to see cybersquatters who plunder name of Amiga:

This information technology consulting business company is based in India and in USA.

From their site:

Quote:

Transforming Thoughts Transforming Business Intelligence

Amiga Informatics is the most complete and trusted IT Staffing Company in the Information Technology Industry.

Site proposes nice professional photos and cool standard descripiton texts, but their professionality, experience and value is still to being checked as valid.

I found they have also Linkedin and Facebook page.

https://www.facebook.com/amigainformatics/

On LinkedIn their logo mimics somewhat the Amiga Checkmark logo and Amiga Escom lettering style.

Are Amiga.co.uk cybersquatters too, they're a security company about 10 miles from me.

@Raffaele

I am familiar with bioinformatics, which is the application of computer science to microbiology. So amigainformatics must be the application of computer science to Amiga computers? I can't make sense of it...

@Amigo1

Are you joking or are you insane?

Judging you used smileys you are joking but then you do not perceive how much it is dangerous the fact the name of Amiga due to this indian firm is entering the world of services related to information technology, not only anymore simply indicating a linne of computers, an Operating System and the technology insisting on classical multimedia chips.

@bison

Sorry your example is completly unrelated with the situation.

This Amiga Informatics it is just a firm that provide services for industies organizing internal formation and know how for employees of big firms. For some reasons, sympathy or fame of Amiga name they "stolen" our name believing it is famous in information technology and provided also a logo with aspect close to the original Amiga one.

But the fact they used Amiga name sure demonstrate they are poor professionals else they had known how much biased is the name of Amiga in the world of information technologies.

But despite professionality of this India based Amiga, just as long as the name "Amiga Informatics" could create ambiguity with existing Amiga Computer and Technology, that also are products in the market of Information Technology, if Commodore was still existing, sure they had had intimated a "Cease and Desist" to this wannabe Amiga Informatics.

The fact there is no big firm behind Amiga Name, exposes all Amiga Technology to cybersquatters.

The logotypes that various entities behind "our" Amiga has used, has differed a lot over the years, both when it comes to graphical symbols, and fonts used in the text part.

The font in the text part of the logotype has been looking like this for products sold for a very long time now:

And before that, the logotype introduced by Escom post-Commodore (two decades ago) was used:

Before that, even longer back in history, several other logotypes has come and gone.

The text "Amiga" is a registered trade mark by Amiga Inc, but for use for a different set of products/business than the above mentioned company. This is nothing new. You will find the trade mark "Amiga" on many different kinds of products, totally unrelated to "ours". Which is OK. And regarding the visual appearance of the trade mark (logotype), none of Amiga Inc's or Hyperion's logotypes resembles the logo of that consulting company you posted above. Sure, it has the text "Amiga" written with a font, but it's not the same font or even typeface (not even similar) as anything Hyperion or Amiga Inc uses. And then the graphical symbol (whatever it is supposed to be) in the logotype is totally different as well.

OMG!

You really take this personal, don't you?

Well, it's not your problem (had there been a problem), not in any way, so relax!

Well, there you have it!

The name "Amiga" even makes sense in that context (them being a "friend"/"partner" that helps other companies), perhaps even more so than vending computers, software and floppy disk drives.
