Which...is a fairly pointless distinction. Everyone likes to point to XNU as if its something unusual. Its just another hybrid kernel like DragonFly BSD's kernel (discussed here in another thread).
Having been devoted to OS' that use true micro kernels since the '80s, I'm at a loss to see why this compromise solution keeps getting touted as all it allows is BSD compatibility..
