| I'm in the USA with a Samsung Syncmaster 910mp TV/monitor. It does not sync down to 15KHz as an SVGA monitor, but it also has an SCART port. Should I be using that in TV mode with an appropriate adapter for the Amiga video port -- will that work? Thanks for info. |

I've successfully used Amiga RGB + sound to SCART on UK TV's so I can't see why not.
Enjoy

| Hi. Here
TV/Monitor (Samsung) goes to vga (PIV) + Scart (from the original). Choose by remote control.
eg. LoadWB=VGA, then a original game like Deluxe Galaga, remote source=Scart.
Works nice and the monitor is white, Amiga Sticker over the Simsangsung.
These are maybe not sold anymore as new connectors HDMI.
Right cable in the right place. Should work.
Off Topic. Oh, Edgar Merry Times in There and Thanks. Last edited by PR on 25-Dec-2016 at 09:22 PM.

| Maybe I'm screwed because I don't have the remote for my monitor (?) but I purchased the RGB to SCART cable from Amigakit. I attached my A2000 (booted and running) and I can't select the right mode on the Samsung 910mp. Everything is ghosted/grey except for the TV option and the up/down arrows don't let me move to the EXT, AV, etc. options. I found the following in the online manual:
"NOTE : According to broadcasting type in each country, you may not be able to select one. EXT(RGB) is mainly used in Europe."
So what's the point of even having an SCART connection on this monitor if I'm in the USA and can't select it? Or maybe (unlikely) something is wrong with my brand new cable from Amigakit. Ugh.
EDIT: When I use a standard VGA cable along with my little RGB-VGA adapter, the monitor *does* allow me to select PC mode, but it won't automatically scan down to the required 15 KHz. Last edited by orb85750 on 20-Jan-2017 at 06:25 PM.

Have you tried switching to PAL in the early start up menu? _________________ Amiga A1200, 3.1 ROMs, Blizzard 1230 MKIV 64MB & FPU, 4GB DoM SSD, Workbench 3.1 |

Surely you can buy either a direct replacement remote control or an All-in-One type of replacement?
On UK TV's, when you connect something (perhaps a DVD player, Playstation, Nintendo Wii, etc) most of them will default to the SCART input automatically.
