Backbone is the most used gamecreator package for Amiga, but its no longer being supported, and got its limitations. Redpill on the other hand is currently being developed, with the devs responding in the EAB thread below.
surprisingly it seemed not to get as much attention as it should
if you look how many games are developed with SEUCK on C64 (despite existing limitations regarding game play) and how many backbone games are developed on amiga then it is great news. I would buy it just to support further development.

Backbone is known to be the most used as well as the worst game creation tool on the Amiga. Well at least when I read about it simple scolling games require a hefty CPU. And scrolling is still jerky.
If that's true then the Amiga needs another game creation tool to crush Backbone. I read the source is lost so it won't be updated.
But, I wonder, can Redpill import Backbone projects? It would be good if it could do this. I've wondered for a long while if there could be a superior game engine to load in Backbone files to play a game the way it was meant to be played.
