I have this machine called Antminer S7 which is making me bitcoins.

I was just wondering can i use this maybe to make some amicoins too, and if so, then how?

Do i need to first register some amicoin wallet some place and do i then just create worker to some amicoin pool and point out my machines worker to go there with that worker id?

@Bugala,

Search the forums. I remember something about these being discussed a few years back.

A while back Phoenixkonsole was using the term for a term for credits to be used exclusively for his products.
They couldn't be mined and had no use outside of that.

@fishy_fis

Yes, you are right about that, I remember now.

But I also remember there was some virtual currency which had somewhat similar name.

I remember at least Phoenixconsole had made some of them (but it wasnt originally created by phoenixconsole) and he even offered something against them. It was maybe some game against 100 000 of those amicoins.

@Bugala

Seems the name is AmigaCoin instead of PhoenixConsoles AmiCoin.

http://www.amigacoin.org/

I also found out about that PhoenixConsoles offer i mentioned in previous post:

"As a begining:

Price for AEROS Plus for Pi download version is:
105000 Amigacoins
-------------------
Pizza (medium size) + Cola costs 250000.
-------------------
5€ donation to a power2people.org bounty costs 150000 (70€ budget right now , 05 of june 2014)
-------------------
500 indieCoins cost 75000 AGA"

I downloaded some sort of wallet software, and i found the mining addresses etc.

But how do i get one of those Amigacoin Wallet addresses?

I dont see an option to make one inside that Amigacoin Wallet program.

@Bugala

email the Amigacoin developer at http://www.amigacoin.org/ as he was pretty responsive when I first set it up a few years back. Something happened on his server end and I haven't been ebale to min new coins for a while and haven't had the time to look into it but if you find out where/how we can get back started please update this thread

@klx300r

yes, I was actually thinking of making a small tutorial to here in amigaworld when/if i get amigacoins mined.

But for a start, one thing not mentioned for those who dont have the wallet yet, go to www.amigacoin.org, and then download one of those exes. Those exes are the wallets, and when you start that wallet software, it will make you wallet address, but it can take even several hours before that happens.

If I understood right, it made that address automatically after couple of hours when i had left the wallet open to the background, but it is also possible that it might have been a result of having made one "AmigaCoin address" and then it came after some time the address.

The point with this confusion is that there is this place where you can add "AmigaCoin adress"es, and when you click on it, there comes two fields: 1. Name you wish to use and 2. The address.

Since those are both blank at beginning, and i think i tried to put something on that "address" part, it might have been the reason why it took so long before things went right.

But anyway. Either it 1. Makes it automatically after a long period of time (possibly hours), or 2. when you add new "AmigaCoin Address" leave the "Address" blank, and it will fill it automatically.

like I said I had it working fine but then the original server the developer was using went down and I haven't been able to mine anywhere else since
