Actually I am considering it. If they can keep it down to the €400 price tag I read about. I'd really like a portable OS4 machine I can take to Amiga meetings. And I hate taking out my X1000 or XE which are my work horses. What I wonder is how I missed out on seeing the beta program. When I discovered from Epison's blog that he's had one in testing for s year. |

I'm really looking forward to it. Maybe it's the name that makes me think of the A1200.
Does anyone know if it will have an official case? I'd love to have a new Amiga that looks, well, like a new Amiga. |

Most dealers are offering SSD as an option or standard equipment on the X5000 so I'm sure they'll do the same with A1222 systems. Tabor support DDR 400Mhz so that's PC3-6400. |

A black Streacom FC8 Alpha with an engraved boingball logo was shown at the Amiga 30 UK event in 2015 but I don't know if A-EON plan to sell that particular case or not.

Possibly, depends on the pricing for the Aus. dollar.

My wish is, that the shown case will NOT be the official one!
It costs around 150 Euros, engraving the logo also is not cheap (25-50?), you also need a low profile graphics card which is hard to find and costs more (beside a heat problem if fanless or loudness if a low profile has a fan).
So an entry base system, which A1222 should be, could cost 1000,- again. This should be no option!
We have this one for Tabor, costs around 40 Euros + 20,- Power suply: https://www.amazon.de/Sharkoon-PC-Geh%C3%A4use-Mini-ITX-extern-intern/dp/B00TJBCASG/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1486539792&sr=8-1&keywords=mitx+case
It is small, cheap and a full size graphics card finds its place. For Tabor a low, low entry should be the target. Saving money with a slower CPU without FPU and then putting 300 Euros on top for cases is the false way i think ;)
Edit (this is the case we have here, similar to the one above, slightly different design): https://www.amazon.de/Sharkoon-One-PC-Geh%C3%A4use-Mini-ITX-interne/dp/B00TL8VN5I/ref=s9_simh_gw_g147_i2_r?pf_rd_m=A3JWKAKR8XB7XF&pf_rd_s=&pf_rd_r=H6E1F3GF8W8GQSTT971N&pf_rd_t=36701&pf_rd_p=31e89994-24c5-4f2a-aa69-5e32e91703a1&pf_rd_i=desktop

| Sign me up for one, at least if there will be a third party solution that will allow...
1: your Amiga Tabor to be firmly secured inside an A1200 case using a 3D printed bracket that will allow the Tabor motherboard to be placed on top of the A1200 screw holes.
2: your Amiga Tabor to use the I/O-port openings of the A1200 case (again, this will have to rely on some 3D-printed solution, possibly in combination with extension cables running from the motherboard to the back of the A1200 case).
Any takers, please feel free to upload your bracket and I/O-port adapter designs to Shapeways to earn some money and help the Amiga community out in the process. _________________ That'll Put Marzipan In Your Pie Plate, Bingo 💻 Pro-Amiga, 🌍 Pro-Globalism, 🍅 Pro-Vegan, 🛦 Pro-NATO & 🇪🇺 Pro-Joint EU Defense Intervention Initiative |

I'm tempted. Would quite like a PlayStation VR though + PS4 Pro and still loving my classics
If they ever release a full VR X-Wing campaign for the Battlefront series that could swing it I'm really enjoying the old LucasFilm games from GOG at the moment! They're pretty hard though! Running out of laser energy and having to use shield energy is a bummer! Perhaps I should utilise my wingmen a bit more? That case would do fine. Seems to match old CD32 power supplies _________________ "Art challenges technology. Technology inspires the art." John Lasseter, Co-Founder of Pixar Animation Studios |

I would keep the floppy and DVD drive too. If you could have an emulation boot option for OS4 and it worked by just popping in an A500 game or CD32 disc it would be a great retro product. Make it really simple to use and add in a few OS4 remakes such as Wings and you would get a good chunk of the retro market. _________________ Sam |
