Thought it might have examples for ARM and writing an OS for that. I mean there are a few ARM boards made for hackers who like to tinker and maybe get into the 80's fashion of doing assembler and stuff. I know it hasn't gone out of style but those three letter x86 mnemonics and alphabet registers just look a bit archaic these days. Surey there's a CPU that's a bit more fresh? All this high level language stuff is making ASM a bit stale.

Or perhaps we should start looking at operating systems from a modern perspective and conclude that being platform agnostic is more important than being tied to hardware that could have a limited shelf life.

It's always possible to optimize and make things perform as efficiently as possible once you get it to work.
