| Is there a native 24-bit paint program available for OS 4.1 FE U1? AmiCygnus GIMP is a very good program, but AmiCygnus can not display more than 16 bits. Last edited by thinkchip on 22-Mar-2017 at 07:00 PM.

This is what I use: 24 bit, native - SketchBlock (AmiStore, OS4Depot) 24 bit, 68k, but works - ImageFX 24 bit, semi native (WarpOS) - FXPaint
And there is the ArtEffect which is 24 bit too, but I have not used that before.

I should mention that I hardly ever draw, except for touching up photos. I mostly process images, resize, crop, etc. I mostly use Photoshop Elements, which is a stripped down version of Photoshop. I'm wondering if there is a comparable 24-bit native AmigaNG program. _________________ X5000 / microA1(OS4.1 FE U2) / CodeBench / Imagine / Blender Lightwave 2019 / Microsoft Visual C++ |

SketchBlock is not 24bit, rather its HDR and effectively 96 bit.... (really 32bit floating point per colour channel) ofcourse you can downgrade when exporting

Yes Image FX latest version does work with OS4.1, but its apparently impossible to buy it any more. Aeon/Amikit owns it now but doesn't sell the existing OS3 version. _________________ - BCP AmigaOne X1000 & Amiga 4000

I'd love to be able to produce HDR photos from multiple exposures on my Amiga. Are there any plans to add this feature to Sketchblock?

In principle you can do that now, assuming you import each photo as seperate layer and merge them, but the work flow is probably not what you might be used to in another application.
Memory considerations do become a problem though.
Also alot of what people refer to HDR photos is actuall the "compressed" 24 bit output. Compressed in the colour domain that is. I've yet to have time to learn enough about that sort of filter to understand how to implmentent it, but it's on the todo list.

I did try doing composites in Photogenics some years ago but was unable to achieve satisfactory results but maybe I should try some experimenting in Sketchblock.

If you don't need to do it manually on every single photo, this does batch processing: iBatch
