A couple Odyssey queries

Up until my X1000 crashed in early December, I often looked at my e-mail with a fairly nice viewer in Odyssey. Now I launch Odyssey from the same hard drive, except it is now inside my revitalized SAM460ex. But the site (gmail.hawaii.edu) launches an inferior reader, with this message at the top of the page: "You have been redirected to the basic HTML version because this browser is not supported. To use standard view please upgrade to a supported browser." I have no reason to believe that the site has been upgraded in the last three months. What else might cause the difference?

Query number two. My Odyssey drawer contains an assortment of similar Tools. There is

Odyssey 63,698,980 01/19/2016
OdysseyLauncher 15,256 08/09/2009
OdysseyLauncherPE 304,272 07/03/2016

I normally click on the first, but I don't notice any difference among these three. I assume the second might as well be gotten rid of, but why do I need the third?

@kilaueabart

Maybe you had spoofing set previously?

Cheers

@TiredofLife

Bingo! Thank you. It was so long ago that I set that, I didn't even know what you meant for a few seconds.

Now I get a good version of the e-mail, with only a "This version of Firefox is no longer supported. Upgrade to a newer version" to dismiss.

@kilaueabart

I'm just learning this myself.. but if you open "Windows/URL Settings" you can set spoofing preferences for individual websites instead of globally.

Recent Facebook changes gave me some grief, but using this has it sorted out fairly well.

I would say OdysseyLauncherPE is the tool by Chris Handley that enables you to open new links in new tabs or windows. Otherwise it will open up a whole new instance of the program.

@kilaueabart
"OdysseyLauncherPE" was the beta version, which for the official release I changed the name to OdysseyLauncher2:

Yes, whenever I've had an issue with Odyssey under MorphOS I've switched to spoofing an iPad or other device. That actually worked surprisingly well for YouTube as it forces an HTML5 rendering path.
