| Hello
The title says it all: How can I burn a Playstation CD-Rom with MakeCD or AmiDVD?
I asked this years ago but I don't remember well the title of the topic.
Any help will be highly appreciated. _________________ AMIGA 500 1.5 MB ACA500/ACA1232 accelerators AMIGA 500 German CD32 unexpanded Amiga 1200 Tower on AmigaKit since years AMIGA 1300 030/50 Mhz/32 MB WB 3.9 with lots of games&demos AMIGA ONE XE G3 PPC 800 Mhz/1 GB RAM/RADEON 9250 128 MB/SATA CONTROLLER |

In what format is the source? Plain iso image should work. |

Then what is the problem here? Both applications should be able to burn CD from iso image. |

So you tried to burn an ISO and it didn't boot/work?
The real thing or an emulator? |

With AmiDVD you should be able to select the image file with the top Imagefile file gadget and burn it from the Burn tab. In MakeCD you can press Add on the main screen, set Type as Image and select your file. You can also use the Edit menu to append an image file or choose to import AIFF-CD, toc or cue images.
You could use a CD/RW to test.
You might want to try opening the image on Workbench as well so it mounts as a volume then you can give the disk image device name to the emulator. Saves a burn. Last edited by Hypex on 03-Apr-2017 at 03:17 PM.

| Alternatively you can just mount a CD image within the emulator. No need to actually burn to CD (unless of course you'd prefer to). |

I understand all you say that is right. But I want to burn 5 Playstation CDs not ISO images here.
To burn and ISO on AmiDVD or MakeCD I know.
The thing I don't remember is to copy PSX CDs.
Thanks _________________ AMIGA 500 1.5 MB ACA500/ACA1232 accelerators AMIGA 500 German CD32 unexpanded Amiga 1200 Tower on AmigaKit since years AMIGA 1300 030/50 Mhz/32 MB WB 3.9 with lots of games&demos AMIGA ONE XE G3 PPC 800 Mhz/1 GB RAM/RADEON 9250 128 MB/SATA CONTROLLER |

| Ah, sorry, thought you was wanting to burn downloaded CD images. Back in the day I used clonecd, although that's a Windows program. I have no experience copying PlayStation CDs on an Amiga. Have only played them there (FPSE is a great emulator). |

MakeCd can copy CD's .
I used in the past to copy PSX Cds. ( But not all works)
Use DAO , if supported by your drive.

If I am honest you are wasting your time burning a cd if you want to play Playstation games via the FPSE emulator as i am guessing this is what you want to do?
FPSE works much better with ISO files rather than the actual CD.
Same thing goes for running CD32 games via RuninUAE _________________ Amigaone X5000/20 4GB Radeon RX 550 Polaris 12 AmigaOS4.1 Final Edition Update 1 Amiga 1200 Workbench 3.1.4 Amiga CD32 |

And some handy advice about ISO's from my blog post about running FPSE on the X5000
Another thing to watch out for when downloading ISO’s are where the .bin files come in multiple segments along with a separate .cue file which is basically a file dictating the running order that the CD should play the segmented .bin files on the disk. My advice here is to try another file or another download site, or if you have no other option then transfer the file to a PC, open up Daemon Tools and mount a virtual drive. Place the .cue file in the virtual drive you have just mounted, then using a program like Imageburn, request that the bin files be merged into one large bin file from the .cue file instructions.
Lastly, one final thing with regards to ISO downloads. You may sometimes see the .bin file as a whole with a .ecm file attachment at the end. Well ECM files are compressed files which can be unpacked on the Amiga, so if you are not able to unpack these, then head over to OS4 Depot and download the following: http://os4depot.net/index.php?function=showfile&file=utility/archive/xad_ecm.lha The file will need to be placed in the XAD folder which is located in your Sys:Libs folder.
