If Wipeout 2097 can run now in WinUAE is unclear
But what is sure is that there is no 3D hardware accelerated in WinUAE so even if it can run it will be slow as hell with software rendering (Wazp3D)

The same apply for 2D graphics so the Workbench is much more responsive in a (say) Sam440 than in WinUAE
Idem for 2D games : A Sam440 can play MACE at more than 100 fps

To sumarize WinUAE-ppc
cpu,integer,mem access=very fast
fpu,2D,3D=slow
