Although I applaud A-Eon´s work on software field, this is not that simple as half working PPaint update or some eye-candy.

While half of Enhancer its just eye-candy, and replacements of os component (which from my opinion don't need it, but that another story) , and simple tools like calendars, clocks, timeprefs and co, still, there is some components under aeon's hands which is at all not simple or half-working : RadeonHD, Warp3D_SI, Warp3d_Nova, OpenGL ES. Soon there will be minigl-over-warp3d nova replacement as well. I can't call it all "simple". Those ones just hadcore things.

Sure, it is not kernel, or filesystems, or webbrowser, but at least i can see that aeon paid, and do everything MUCH faster when it come to the same kind components. For hyperion its take 5 or how many years of pure promises about gallium, new warp3d drivers, and whatever else, but once aeon step in, they just paid , and everything done fast.

Not that i saentolog of aeon, but credits should be where they deserved imho.

Even other things inside the Enhancer Software such as SmartFileSystem 2, AmiDVD, AmiPDF, Ringhio Notifications, MultiViewer and MultiEdit are not really described as "eye-candy" or "simple tools"

@amigakit

SFS, AmiDVD, AmiPDF and Ringio already was there before, and wasn't radically changes in Enhancer, just a little updated.

Multiviewer have bug with opening of .txt files, it's lockup solid every time for me when i try to open txt file with (i already discuss if with Andy, but he don't know at moment how to fix it), so, at this point better to use OS4's multiview still. MultiEdit have small bug as well (which i hope Andy will fix soon), but even if didn't there is plenty editors like : CED5, CodePad, even pure OS4's default NotePad.

So, all those not _that_ important, as graphics 2d/3d drivers, ogles, minigl-to-w3d-nova, warp3d_si, which is reall hardcore and timeconsuming stuff.

RTG is not properly supported - 2 MB Chip RAM limit in OS4 version when runing on classic hardware (WinUAE emulation in my case).

Ringhio Notifications has been updated extensively since we first got hold of the source code . It had been in "hibernation" since 2009 . The amount of work that has gone into it has not been trivial and many new features added (sound, pause/stop buttons, progress bar support, animation support) and Bugzilla fixes resolved. It is quite different to the old version that came with 4.1.

I used MultiViewer and MultiEdit every day, great apps and find them very useful and stable.

I also forgot to mention TuneNet which is another application that has had countless hours devoted to it. Much of the code has been rewritten and the APIs updated. It is now a large step forward on the "free" version.

I think we should measure this work against the time it has been achieved in, we are on the verge of 4 public releases in a 12 month period.

RTG is 100% supported, any limitation is due to runing under emulation.

Maybe you need to file a WinUAE bug report? Perhaps the uaegfx driver is using "chipmem" for the nondisplatyable bitmaps? In which case that is not OS4 complient.

Good old 7.1 works as intended...

There are numerous bugs in that version when running on OS4, though few were in the OS itself and have been fixed. It hacks it's own off screen bitmaps togther which causes problems in many contexts, even if it might get round your chipmem issue, the new version uses OS4 graphics.library to allocate all bitmaps.

What happens if you remove chipmem from your emuation? (probably asked that before but I can't remeber the answer :-0)

Amiga is not able to boot without Chip RAM (WinUAE even refuses to configure less than 256 kB)!
