@Cool_amigaN and Thelier

Thank you both for your detailed responses, that's been really helpful in explaining things and thanks Thelier in particular for your work on Wazp3d in this instance it has been a useful tool and in this instance allowed me to play the Amiga version

I do have the PSX version of Wipeout 2097 running under emulation with FPSE on OS4, i did a post a few months back when reviewing FPSE and uploaded a video also so i guess you can all judge for yourselves, there are two videos in fact on this post but you may want to look at the 2nd one which fixes the graphical corruption i first experienced when I didn't configure things properly.

https://amigax5000.blog/2017/08/03/fpse-the-free-sony-playstation-emulator/

I guess the only last thing to do is try it out under MorphOS..... wasn't version 3.10 supposed to be out by now?

@TRIPOS

Its the first im hearing of "PHase5 NG" as ive been out of the amiga loop for over a year and dont do social media. But if the real phase 5 guys are doing it (Gerald and TK) im sure the products will be top quality. They are good guys and take pride in their work.

GnGeo is a little bit old. You could try FinalBurn Alpha : http://hunoppc.amiga-projects.net/content/final-burn-alpha-amigaos4-windows-32-bits

It supports Neo Geo games amongst others (such as Megadrive/Genesis and Super NES/Super Famicom).

@K-L

I know Final Burn Alpha is an absolutely amazing product that everyone should check out but equally it’s not the easiest of packages to set up to begin with and GnGeoNG is easier to do. ( I aim in a lot of my posts to get People who don’t know much about OS4 and newbies to OS4 to see what kind of stuff we have and how easy it is to set up so forgive me at times if I don’t always go for the most obvious option) 🙂. I’ve had about 300 hits today to the blog and the site stats can be quite revealing at times. Let’s just say what interests people the most about NG machines isn’t necessarily what most people think...

About FBA, I know when I spoke to HunoPPC at Amiga32 he did mention SNES and MSX emulation but I am right the latest version with these updates haven’t yet been publicly released? Is that right?

@outrun1978

The lastest binary for Final Burn it's from October 2017, and comes with SNES and MSX emulation.

I decided to take a look at OSMoSe the Sega Master System emulator and write up about it for the latest blog post. North American game players may be interested the most as the emulator gives you the chance to try out a large chunk of the library which was only ever released for PAL machines.

Got the Payback and liked it a lot.

A Version to buy for the XE.

Edit: A Bit slow in 060+PIV.

I'd thought i'd take a look today at a very rare machine in the SAM Coupe which can be emulated under AmigaOS 4. I have to say I had a bit of fun with this little machine and wouldn't mind trying to get hold of one!

Very interesting stuff! I have not tried out the SAM Coupe before, only heard it mentioned, and I definitely did not think it was this advanced. Will give this one a go myself. As you write in your article, it is impressive how it holds up to the Atari ST and Amiga considering it is an 8-bit machine.

@AmigaOldskooler

Thanks and yes this machine is a very nice surprise. Sadly I think you may need to pay big bucks for one on EBay, just had a quick look and there is one currently up for auction at £188 with some issues on the output of the picture or a buy it now option for another one at £799!
