There are two bootable partitions (BOOT and ADH0:) on the 'Emergency boot' USB stick which is included with Cyrus+/X5000s sold by AmigaKit. What version of RadeonHD driver is installed on these partitions?

Regards,

Gregor

@Gregor

You can find out using the version comand e.g. version DHx:Kickstart/RadeonHD.chip or in the icon information.

No you can't, if you are not able to boot AmIgaOS!

So, information, please...?

In that case I can't tell you since I don't have an X5000. Are you unable to boot the system or having difficulty?

Booting stops after kickstart has been loaded and the OS4.1 FE screen appears... Then the display just turns black and the machine reboots.

I guess this is a problem with the RadeonHD driver...? I just got an information from another X5000 user that the driver is v. 2.21 on the'emergency disk'. AFAIK, that is the latest one, which has been reported to support also 'Oland' chip set! I have a r7 240, so it should work.... Unless there is a bug in the driver?

Regards,

Gregor

@Gregor

Not every model of each family graphics card works. There are always problem cards.
You really need to try a different card to eliminate any other problems.
Once you can boot with another card then you can then be sure that your Oland card is the actual problem.

Or it's something else. Trouble with the graphics driver usually don't make the machine reboot, in my experience.

@Gregor

I had a similar problem with uBoot coming up and then no signal.

I was connecting with a HDMI cable, I found that if I connected with DVI it worked.

You were right...! Thanks for guiging me to the right direction. I removed all other expansion cards except the graphics one, and booting was now finished normally! (except that the system complained it was not able to open the ethernet device unit 0, but that is a different story... ;)

I tested the cards one by one, and the problem was located to the Dawicontrol DC2976 UW. Could it be that there is some kind of memory allocation conflict between this card and the r7 240 display adapter? The OS 4.1 FE screen which was shown shortly before reboot had strange colors, just like the palette had been smaller than normally...

Is there anything to try to solve this kind of problems? I already tested the Dawicontrol in both PCI slots, no effect...

Regards,

Gregor

@Gregor

If you can mount/read the usb partition on another computer you may use an hex editor and look for "$VER" in the mentionned file.
