What's with your apple comment in your signature? Bill Gates and Microsoft were an important investor in Apple circa 1997 keeping the company afloat at a difficult time and promising to support the platform with MS Office. The Mac was a cunning tool MS used in the battle to defeat the calls to split up the company due to it abusing its monopoly especially in the Web Browser wars!
P.S. Hope you have fun! Sweet venue
... and one of the poshest 'welcome to' signs I've ever seen

Which was in turn copied off Xerox!! Apple are morons pretending they are the free thinkers. They are if anything MORE corporate and more restrictive than Microsoft ever was. At least Microsoft take risks by going after the console gaming market. Apple can't even take risks on Pro users anymore!! _________________ "Art challenges technology. Technology inspires the art." i think you find apple was the first to do console call Pippin
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apple_Pippin
come out in year of 1996
and xbox come out in year November 15, 2001, in North America,
that 5 year be for xbox
so it apple who took the risks at console
only thing his xbox took off well but apple pippin did not _________________ maybe i am dyslexia

That's because they settled out of court patent infringement case so MS had to pay, not because of some strange good will. Didn't those monopoly cases happen a lot later._________________ Rock lobster bit me. My Workbench has always preferences. X1000 + AmigaOS4.1 FE "Anyone can build a fast CPU. They didn't have the confidence to brand it as an Apple though did they?
It was an open platform so a lot of the risk was on Bandai who manufactured the ATMARK branded consoles! _________________ "Art challenges technology. Technology inspires the art." John Lasseter, Co-Founder of Pixar Animation Studios |

I believe they licensed it from Xerox, not outright stole.

They contract the manufacture of the Xbox consoles out to other companies in much the same way as Apple do their phones and computers.

Microsoft have had a hardware division since 1982 and they released their first mouse in 1983. |

You mean one of these.
http://www.scuzzscink.com/amiga/amiga_scuzz545.htm
I was actually playing World of Warcraft and most folk in chat knew about the console, even though I didn't. I actually logged into Ebay while still playing the game and won one in an auction. Never used it I have to say, but then I generally don't use Apple as I find all their kit annoying and a touch boring. Just personal taste.
I have a G4 and it must be the slowest computer I have ever owned. Generally the kit is used to stand monitors on whilst I muck around with 6128s and 464s. At least then they have some use.
Saying that I managed to finally get my Apple ][ to work the other day. Seems all I needed to do was slide a postcard into the floppy drive first and then load the actual Apple system disk in over the top of the postcard. And it worked. Then I put the computer away.

Odd comment about the G4 being slow, if you're used to Apple IIs, C64s, and C128s. Personally, I prefer computers with enough cpu power to run a proper operating system, but to each his own (I guess). |
