Hello friends , I cannot run the current version of smtube

The error message is about sob2.lib or something like that I do not remember the exact library that is responsible for the error .

I have found several entries about the problem with the current version in the internet but I simply want someone to provide me a few steps of what is needed to change in my installation so I can run the latest version that amiupdate is providing.

My current installation is Aos4.1 final update 1 and the latest QT.

@zzd10h

1) Double click on smtube icon.
2) a quite long delay.
3) Window labeled ELF library appears wich inside there is the message : Failed to load shared object
libxml2.so.11
4) I click OK as this is the only option
5)Second window appears also with the label ELF library wich contains the following text : Required object is missing .
6) I click OK as it is the only option
7)The window dissapears
8)Nothing else happens .

Did you tried that ?

"Certainly that you will encounter these problems if you use FE update 1 :

Proc: problem come from new FE Update 1 SObjs libpng and new libfontconfig.

"solution", revert to previous libfontconfig and install libxml2
http://www.os4depot.net/share/library/xml/libxml2.lha

@zzd10h

I followed the links you provided and downloaded the new files.
Then I executed the autoinstall from the libxml2's file and then I copied the previus version of libfontconfig.lib to my sytem/libs and then I restarted .
I then tried to launch Smtube only to see the same error message with the two windows as I did nothing.

I checked, libxml2.so.11 is in the os4depot archive.
Do you have this file in SObjs: ?

@zzd10h

The new SMTube runs without warnings on my Sam46ex with FE Update 1.
Something wrong then..?

It's a slow starter (due to Qt?) but then runs perfect with Emotion...

@Nicsoft

Maybe that you changed his "Start with" to "Workbench" instead of "CLI" ?
IIRC, there was few problems when started by CLI, but I can't remember which one. But right, no warnings output.

@Nicsoft

Oops, I wanted to write
"IIRC, there was few problems when started by Workbench (not by CLI),"

@zzd10h

Can you recommend some settings for the X5000 with a Radeon 7850HD?

I seem to only get videos in 360, how can I increase to 720 or (dare I say it!) 1080?

@daveyw

Just clik on View/Settings, select Players and Edit PlayVideo.rexx.

No 1080 even on X1000. 720p will be fine on X5000 (it is on X1000 with most of the videos) even without AltiVec.

@K-L

I can't select View/Settings. I can't select any menu item in QT, they are both sticky and non-sticky at the same time; if I take my finger off the mouse button, the menu disappears, but if I leave it on, nothing can be selected.

I'm thoroughly confused by PlayVideo.rexx. I thought all the settings are in the ini file?

@daveyw

In QtPrefs (General), do not use BOOPSI Menu Class. In (Painting), use graphics.library + compositing for renderting.

Just remember SmTube is a port (very good one) and not a native software so there are some specific prefs for it.
