They are so all users can have a go at using this marvelous accelerator. Those of us with A500's, etc, may just want to speed up our favourite machines, whilst those of us with an aging machine may not feel that it is worthwhile to expand it when it might fail and render the expansion useless.

Then again, there are people who may consider returning to the Amiga after time away in the PC wasteland, who no longer have a classic and who would prefer to run Classic software rather than go for an NG machine.

It's virtually the same board, so the developers can create the ones required relatively easily. Costs are reduced because only one PCB is required.

Thus, everyone gets covered.

If it's just one board, then any of them can be a standalone, and the standalone can be fit into A500/2000/1000/CDTV.

As far as I can see from the press release, the board seems to be the same but different sections can be populated depending on the use it is ordered for.

Presumably, the FPGA will be written slightly differently for each model/standalone, too. It would be really nice if the A1200 version could be used as standalone as required.

You can download the PDF from:

@OldAmigan

I think I have a spare Amiga case. Still in the box. Time for my Amiga A1200 Reloaded to come out and greet me.

Very much looking forward to this little bit of hardware!
It definitely re-sparked my interest in the old Amiga!
