@AmigaBlitter

This kind of multi cpu support has always been possible on any kind of Amiga, so no need to wait ;)

@AmigaBlitter

It may be SMP on 1 x86 desktop with (at least) 4 cores, but it is not SMP on C64. It is MP on 4 (virtual) C64's that are communicating with each other.

To explain further: it would be like running 4 instances of UAE in Linux, having them communicate with each other to run one monster Amiga demo. But it would not, in any way, shape, or form, be SMP on Amiga.

@tommysammy

Maybe someone should just clone AmigaOS4 like how AROS cloned AmigaOS. Call it OS4ROS. Problem solved! Runs on latest hardware. Multi threaded.

@wawa

The ability to load and run OS4 apps. Are they working on a plug in? There's an idea.

@wawa

The default AROS theme is ugly, it should have a beautiful look & feel like OS4 at the minimum.

In this particular case they're not even communicating with each other, all four instances run independently without any knowledge of each other

i agree, but there is a choice. you can choose a theme you like, or disable it altogether, in which case aros simply looks like amiga with kick 3.1. also the theme formats are compatible for what i have seen, so you can use the same theme you prefer on os4 (or probably even morphos) also on aros.

what you probably actually complain about is the icon set, which also might be replaced, most conveniently at compile time. if anyone contributes a complete set that is.

so as people apparently love to customize their desktop above all else, this isnt really an issue.
anything else?

Default is what I meant. When I was younger it was OK to customize the look to my needs now I just want an off the shelve experience. To that end a Modern PC fully supported would be nice, Ryzen and Nvdia for example with a nice case :)

@wawa

I dunno. Workbench? Hmmm bad example. When it comes to ports nothing I suppose. Running 68K on OS? Screen dragging? Gotta be some reason why there is still interest in OS4 and spending thousands on a computer if an AROS box does the same thing and no one noticed.
