IBrowse, clear choice for OS3.x and fastest browser available for OS4. Then Odyssey with JS turned off. |

Why would you want to do that? Web sites break too easily as it is. |

Jokes aside, Odyssey with JS turned off is faster than Netsurf - at least under WinUAE. |

Well, that's might be it for you =(
To me Origyn is the non MUI-variant which I don't like at all really. My favourite it Odyssey (MUI-variant) which is totally different to me and resembles GUI wise very much of IBrowse which I also like, so there is no options for me at least =)

I use Odyssey for general use. Speed is fine on an X5000
I sometimes use Timberwolf. It's actually fairly useable on the X5000.
And IBrowse. If you haven't heard, there is talk about a new version coming out soon. Modern pages look horrible on IBrowse, but its still pretty quick, plus I have some great arexx scripts that can only be used on IBrowse. _________________ --------------- AmigaOne X5000 P5020 2Ghz, OS 4.1 AmigaOne XE G4 800mhz, OS 4.1 A1200T 40Mhz 68040, OS 3.9 |

| Favorite browser is Netsurf at the moment on my V600 setup, it's the most compatible although it's not the fastest.

I use the following web browsers on my AmigaOS 4.1 FE Update 1 system: (in alphabetical order)
AWeb APL Lite 3.5.11 IBrowse OEM Version 2.4 NetSurf 3.7 Origyn Web Browser 3.31 Odyssey Web Browser 1.23 Timberwolf 4.0.1
Origyn Web Browser 3.31 is currently my favorite, followed closely by NetSurf and Odyssey.

But not for everyone, let's look at the history:
1) There was an OWB (Origyn Web Browser) port for OS4 which used ReAction GUI toolkit 2) Then there came OWB (Origyn Web Browser) port for MorphOS which used MUI GUI toolkit 3) MorphOS OWB got more advanced than OS4 OWB, and MorphOS OWB was finally ported to OS4. And OS4 users started to call it unofficially as "MUI-OWB" to distinguish it from their other port 4) MorphOS OWB got rid of all parts of the original discontinued Origyn Web Browser code base and started to merge WebKit directly into it without the Origyn layer, and that's why the name was changed from the Origyn Web Browser to Odyssey Web Browser (still shortened to OWB) 5) The new Odyssey Web Browser was ported to OS4 too (users can call it as Odyssey instead of "MUI-OWB" now), and it still uses MUI
So, there still is the old ReAction based Origyn for OS4 and some people still use it. But then there's also Odyssey which doesn't have anything left from the Origyn code base, and it is used on all next generation platforms.
In any case, if you still would like to bundle these all to one, you should use "OWB" rather than "Origyn".

I have not voted as Odyssey is not there, it is worlds apart from the reaction based OWB which are very different. There should be two entries.
Odyssey at the moment is the only really useful browser, though if it had CSS and iframes them IBrowse 3 would be my browser of choice - if it ever happens ! Unfortunately so many sites now are not that useable with IB 2.5
Netsurf is getting better but still Odyssey is the only day to day browser that can be used on AmigaOS.

A very strange and clueless statement!
Odyssey hasn't had anything to do with "Origyn" since... half a decade? It's a real, native Amiga application with the web engine ported directly from Webkit.
When a "what is your favorite AmigaOS web browser" poll doesn't even include the only browser that is actually usable for real (and even cludges it together with 3-4 completely different browser projects), then the poll is pretty darn useless.

I agree but I actually do like it. It loads up fast. Infact the fastest of any browser bar NetSurf. And unlike that last one OWB can actually load websites despite being years behind. Whenever I try NetSurf most of the time it doesn't work. Which doesn't make sense. The latest update still behind a five+ year old browser in terms of usability. |
