I just received my atx psu cable adapter for the Amiga 4000 desktop.

Still not sure which atx psu will fit well in the case. I have searched forums but many are very old posts or somehow not helpful to me.

Brands, form factors?

@Signman

I can't say about an A4000 as I never owned one :(, but things you could check are overall dimensions of the existing psu. Also check the mounting hole positions, AT and ATX share the same positions if I remember correctly. Both should give you an idea of which would fit :)

@Signman

I found this link of someone placing the innards of a standard ATX PSU into the housing of the original.

Amiga 4000-ATX PSU Swap

Hope this helps.

@Drewlio77

I saw that, but it is a bit pricey.
I finally just ordered an Sfx version recommended to me.

Excellent. What is this SFX version? I too would like to replace my aging A4000 PSU.

@Drewlio77

Hope I got the right one. Utilizing the power button on the front is going to iffy, don't think my switch will be positionable on it.

@Signman

You should be able to use the original on/off switch. One side of the switch will tie to ground, the other to the green wired (power-ON) of the PSU (the 20+4 connector)
