| With the next issue Amiga Future magazine will be celebrating its 20th anniversary. Instead of an article about the history of the magazine we will publish an interview with chief editor and founder Andreas Magerl this time.
Feel free to post your questions here (regarding Amiga Future etc.). I will collect your questions and use them in my interview. Thank you!
Anton Editor Amiga Future

- How did you become an Amiga enthuasist? - What Amiga systems do you own, and use? - What are the plans for Amiga Future? Do you see any changes coming? - Favourite drink, if any? - What is the ratio of German vs. English version readers?

My questions would be.
-How many subscribers are there to your magazine on a monthly basis? -When you first started the magazine, did you imagine that 20 years down the road it would still be here? -Would you consider going monthly? -Which is your favorite Amiga and why?

| @AP An only a big question: Publish the magazine generates benefits to guarantee its future?

| -Could You consider getting rid of the Crypt and put an Q&A and normal letters about Amiga instead
-Why is it so German for English speakers? (All pictures like WB Screengrabs read ähkälämähkälä for me)
-Do You get rich with the mag? (Yes joke intended) actually how in Earth do You survive as there was loads of mags before, AmigaFormat was thick as book every month.

Every single thing you seemed to take exception to are things I find endearing. Here in Austin, Texas you can pick up "polished magazines the shine like only a corporate marketing department would do". Some underground magazines are just tooooo unpolished.
Amiga Future radiates intelligence and writing ability. When I catch a phrase that is not-quite-the-way *I* would say it, I am delighted to be pushed a little more cosmopolitan. When a reviewer breaksdown the wall between the review and me the reader, I pay more attention to the by-play between Andres, the review and the asides to me the reader.
It is the "Letters to Huggins" that I look forward to .. always reading what comes before .. and then "having dessert" as the final course. It is often there that the truest feelings about the Amiga scene (albeit 2 months old already) can be felt. AND
it is always, always so much more pleasant than the inevitable "troll like" complaints in any online forum.
On to some questions so that this post was not totally off topic.
1) Will Amiga Future (if it is not against intellectual property) add S, M, and L T-shirts with X1000 across the front for sale? 2) Same but for X5000? 3) If shirts with a pocket for a smart phone were offered as in 2 & 3 ... even better! 4) if shirts like above have long sleeves ... even better! ------ preorder payment would be alright for many of us. 5) When you annouce when the next deadline for submissions will be, can some guess be added of when 1st class mail probably needs to be posted from: Australia, Japan, USA, and England? 6) *If* we, your readers, should like to supply game playing photos/screen_grab + maybe only an outline of a review of the game for more competant writers of magazine articles, how might we go about that? i) How would we find in the Amiga Future website if the game was already reviewed? ii) Is there already on the A.F. website suggestions of how to make submissions more likely to be welcomed? _________________ ..effects of civilization upon...nature, the growing gap between what education was supposed to accomplish and what it consisted of, the national debt and...high taxes, the problem of the excess cost of medical care -- Philip Wylie, 1951 |
