@Rob

Yeah, this is a December thing. Someone's been exposed to too much Christmas music and adverts already to consider changing their avatar in November

Right on!

I don't acknowledge it before my birthday and certainly not until next month.

After that starts the count down of mum nagging me to put up the tree and me remembering to do it.

@klx300r

By all means order an advent calendar and join a choir if it's important to you. Beyond that chill out and enjoy the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix on the weekend. There's nothing like some Middle Eastern heat and sand to make you forget all the camp Christmas capitalist dross that people expect us all to swallow in November each year. And no, I don't follow which D-list celebrity switches on which town's Christmas lights each year

Leave Jesus' birthday for December and get on with other things until then is my advice.

@klx300r

The season is called Winter and that doesn't start until 1st December by the meteorological calendar or 21st December by the astronomical calendar. By either measurement it's not even Winter never mind Christmas right now! Chill out! If you think Christmas passes quickly it's because it's just one day and in the UK the public holiday is just two days (Boxing Day as well). Yes, we all normally take more holiday than that but it's out of our annual allowance. Christmas itself is just one day i.e. a birthday. If you want to celebrate an extended birthday (as some people do) fair enough, but don't expect the world to stretch the birthday of even Jesus Christ himself on for more than a whole month!!! That's insane ok? Calm down.

can't help you with that type of stress but since you're in the Christmas spirit already I'll join you in a drink to help alleviate the A1222 release blues

@BigD

Trust me, to some Christmas has no religious baring, so please stop shoving that nonsense down peoples throat. I personally loathe religion, and believe this God character to be a horrible, vouyeristic, sadistic perverted entity. Lucifer is a far better man.

And besides all evidence in the christian and catholic story books suggest he wasn't born on that date. As always the 25th date is plagiarized from other religions.
Seriously, if whoever originally created those novels handed them in these days as homework they'd get done for plagiarism. Father sacrificing his only begotten son, water to wine, walking on water, the birthdate,.... all copied from religions that came well before them (Horus/Ra/Isis/pyramid texts from 2400BC).

Long story short, please leave your belief in magical fairies out of things. Some people find religion offensive.

@fishy_fis

hey fishy this is a light hearted thread where those who wish to contribute dress up their avatars in fun/ silly costumes. I appreciate your and all others opinions but this isn't the place for religious debates as those will never ever end.... but hey since I'v been giving out a bud to a few other amigans on this thread here's one for ya too so we can all chill out ok
