I think I can safely say now that I was ripped off my the user "Shaf" on here and many other Amiga forums. He lives in Toronto Canada. I didnt want to call him out before knowing for sure, but its been nearly two months now of him telling me he has been busy, it will go out today and sorry I will go now and send it excuses over and over. This was only $300 but it was money i didnt have to just toss away with nothing in return.

One again the users name here is "Shaf" and he has been around a long time, so its a shock since I dealt with him before and it was completely positive.

Shafqat Khan

@mcbone

I actually wonder if he put together this name of this. Sure, Shafqat Khan is a real name and Khan had a wrath. But I keep coming back to this: Shaft.

@Acill

That is unfortunate. Sorry to hear that Acill. I've been burned a few times, mostly by Chinese firms after returning defective products to them they never send me the (in warranty) replacement. Not much you can do if you are beyond the periods in Paypal or eBay to help. In eBay I could not even respond to the seller anymore because it was beyond 90 days, which is totally crazy. Paypal always seems to deny my requests for refunds from sellers. Usually its because it's been a long time. But sometimes it takes months for stuff from China to ship. sigh...

Long story short I wasnt paying attention to my paypal options and I sent it as friends and family, so paypal is making it difficult. Lucky for me I have emails from the time he contacted me about the parts and several more stating he is on the way to ship it, and then nothing.

Toronto is also helping me out and has collected all his information and these emails as well. Its starting to look good for me on getting it back, but it sure has been a valuable lesson!

@Acill

Many years ago (it may have even been the late 90s), I got stiffed by a seller that I paid through PayPal, and they declined to refund because it had been more than 30 days since the purchase.

So, I went to my bank and had them annul my credit card purchase, which they duly did.

Finally, I got an email from PayPal acknowledging the refund, and saying that I should have just contacted them in the first place...

Are emails valid in court ? Unless they're found to be in his email provider's server anyone can forge a fake email. Sorry for your loss, I got burned too a few times in amiga land...
