| @Barana Well, on the request of someone, I hacked the PPC version of the PoC exploit to compile for MorphOS, and more or less duplicated the results of the TenFourFox guy.
Here, including screenshots from some hardware:
http://charlie.amigaspirit.hu/temp/private/spectre/
TL;DR: 604e and 603e doesn't seem to be affected, the faster G4s are, including ours in the MorphOS-Macs and even the Pegasos 2/G4 (although the PoC was very unreliable on the Pegasos 2, and sometimes just returned garbage, or only partial strings!). I don't have a G3 or 4xx based system to test with.
Although on a non- or limited memory protected system like Amiga a Spectre-like exploit makes little sense as an attack vector, but nevertheless, there are Linux PPC folks out there, so better know what you're dealing with.
Happy testing. Would be interesting if someone compiled this for OS4, and tested on the X1000 and X50x0 series especially. _________________ MorphOS, classic Amiga, demoscene, and stuff "When a bridge is not enough, build a Viaduct!" I don't suppose this matters much to anyone running AmigaOS, since it doesn't have any memory protection to circumvent in the first place. There's no point in closing the windows if the back door is wide open. _________________ "Unix is supposed to fix that." -- Jay Miner |

Before having a back door, one might consider building walls first. (walls help with the window stuff as well)
Amiga environment is like Finnish countryside, no need to lock the door and one can leave car running with keys during shopping, when there is only _________________ - KimmoK // For freedom, for honor, for AMIGA // // Thing that I should find more time for: CC64 - 64bit Community Computer? |

| @thellier Oops. Well. As I said, someone asked, and it was faster to just do the port than to look around if someone has done it already. :) Good to know. Also the results are interesting in that thread, thanks! _________________ MorphOS, classic Amiga, demoscene, and stuff "When a bridge is not enough, build a Viaduct!"
