Hi

Interesting little problem with an Amiga 1200 with a Blizzard accelerator. Machine fires up no problem, however refuses to play animations or show images. If I go into the pre boot menu and switch off the CPU cache then she boots again no problem and will now play animations and show pictures. Not sure if its the card or the board but something aint right.

@scuzz

This would be "normal" with OS1.x era software, but certainly not today. You tried Multiview, right? Any other applications not working?

@pavlor

I'vr tried most things even loading into DPaint. Just starts and then stops instantly. Mostly I use DOPus to play stuff. However if I boot up without the cache then works a dream. Sysinfo doesn't flag anything up . It is pretty basic I know but when I have had problems doing a speed test will normally lock the machine up but it works without fault, as does the memory check and board check etc. All comes up green across the screen.

I am thinking its a bit of bad RAM and I gotta find it so I'll open up tomorrow and remove the accelerator and then start from there.

The error by the way is an abort error not an insufficient memory. It says the program was aborted.

Hi Update. Fixed it. Hadn't realised it was an Apollo in the 1200 and the thing must have worked loose from the connector. Dunno. Just removed and reseated the Simm and gave it a firm push in and like magic she returned to her normal self. Kinda helps when I put the trap door back on. Left it off to cool over the summer. Anyway all good.
