Hello

I have encountered various Bugs/Problems on my new Amiga One X-5000:

-One is what happened at first bootup.I tried to reproduce some youtube video and when I clicked on the video it played without any sound.After a reboot it works

-Two is at first 2 or 3 bootups,sometimes it doesn't load AmiDock app-bar and then when I try to click on a Work partition icon it loads all the icons but I can open any of the icons present on the partition.I only can change the height of the window pressing on the top main bar of the window.

-Three:Sometimes it loads but when I try to enter my personal data to login in Facebook,keyboard doesn't work.a reboot comes helpful here too

-Four:Sometimes too it freezes the Amiga mouse pointer and it directs tou to a reset,no other solution than that.USB stack problems?

So here are my problems.If someone has more he can point here without problem for me, in order to get to a solution for us Amiga One X-5000 users here

@newlight

bug reports go here if AOS4 related : http://forum.hyperion-entertainment.biz/viewforum.php?f=57&sid=ae6d4caac7695a886d1991ec88624d46

ideally you should provide exactly what you did in order to trigger the bug so that betatesters could reproduce the bug and file a bug report.

Your English so horrible, you should use google translate, I am not sure I understand the question.

your trying to play youtube video, but how are you trying to play youtube video, using web browser, are you trying to play it with video player, what video payer (who compiled it, what version of mplayer) and how do you start the video player. What does your configuration files look like. What is text output from the videoplayer.

Two things comes to mind,

1# Your prefs files might be corrupted, or maybe using old prefs files, that not compatible with your current installation.

2# You might have problem with a filesystem, or maybe your HD is corrupted, maybe you have a DMA problem, its impossible to tell.

What does your uboot settings look like?

My advice is to take backup, do a clean installation, use file systems that know to work, like SFS2, don't use FFS/07 (too easy to corrupt, takes for every to validate).

What type of keyboard, how many USB devices have you connected, have you tried to disconnect some?

Tips: if your having USB power problems, try powered HUB.

Can it be software related, is CPU peeking up at 100%, if so it might be USB stack is getting the CPU time it needs, and can't process keystrokes.

Does it help plug out USB device, and plug it back in?

Have you looked at USB log in T:? what does it say?

What software are running when this happens?

Considering you that your system sound nuts, maybe you should do a clean installation.
and don't use FFS/07 use SFS/02 for goodness sake.

@wawa

Are you here troll or what? maybe you can help him.

I have no idea what he done with his system, and from what I can read, he does not have clue. So that’s way suggest doing clean install.

If know what he was doing, should have known what have installed, he should have known when it happened, he should have checked posted logs, and he should disconnected all things that might cause USB problems. And he did provide crash logs, screenshots, or anything that might have been useful to diagnose the problem.

So given the lack of information I will suggest a clean installation.

I will not suggest buying new PSU on spending money new keyboard, before you rolled out software problems.

yeah. how did you know?

the question is if he had these issues from the beginning, or if they started at certain point. if so it should be possible to recall, what device has been introduced then and focus on it.

in general, reading the forums i have an impression os4 usb stack is crashy or at least picky. perhaps it is possible to disable dma (if this is enabled, that is) and see if it helps. or perhaps temporarily downgrade to usb1 mode, considering usb2 is anyway rather a late addition to the stack, and that it is probably for a reason it has been delayed so much.

First: Don't play any youtube videos with Odyssey. Don't play any videos, or go to sites that play videos in advertisments automatically. Video in Odyssey is buggy and causes system instability. Don't expect anything to work reliably after you have watched a video in Odyssey. Anything may crash.

Now, let's reboot and DON'T play videos before trying other things

Do you still have wierd random problems?

Maybe there is a glitch in the memory modules in the machine. Maybe try to reseat them, and make sure all PCI cards are pushed down properly.

Do you get the Grim Reaper with any crash, or only freeze (no keyboard, no mouse)?

(As a side-note: My old A1-XE and my A1-X1000 both showed wierd signs of instability when started cold. I usually have to reboot at least once after starting cold. When it's up and running it is stable for weeks (unless I play videos in Odyssey).)

@Deniil715

Perhaps we should have blocker.commodity to help people from slipping to wrong sites.

Also I notice that I often browse something when I'm on Amiga ... and not too long afterwards I notice some stability issues. Perhaps I should delete web browsers and use remote desktop & slavex86 to browse.

Hi newlight.

X1000 here but your comment about Amidock seems kinda familiar to something I experienced. For a while a certain click by the 3rd mouse button would get Amidock to disappear. I couldn't figure it out and the answer was quite simple - a faulty mouse which sent clicks repeatedly at a rate which interfered with the system in a bad way.

If that isn't it I still bet it has something to do with usb. Try to change cables or test other peripherals.

@Deniil715

For me something like that only happens after I switch from the Linux side without powering down. Isn't the whole point of a reset is to clear everything? that weird behaviour when switching from Linux to 4.1 has been there from the start. When i switch from Linux to 4.1 I always have to replug the mouse. If I just turn it on it works normally.

I think no since the beggining (As I couldn't enter Amiga OS4.1 until I bought this black Microsoft keyboard) but probably since some months.

But I remember a lot the freezing of this machine before OS4.1 loading when I changed from Linux to AmigaOS systems.
