@elwood

Any additional suggestions of references I might consult?

--------------------------------------------------
8.Work1:2017> find ?
DIR/M,NAME/K,COMMENT/K,MINSIZE/K,MAXSIZE/K,WITHIN/K,BETWEEN/K,PROT/K,CONTENTS/K,EXACTNAME/S,EXACTCOMMENT/S,CASENAME/S,CASECOMMENT/S,CASECONTENTS/S,NOSIZES/S,NODATES/S,LFORMAT/K,GUIMODE/K,REQ/S:
8.Work1:2017> find OS4.1FE_ssd FIND >ram:a.txt
8.Work1:2017> type ram:a.txt
8.Work1:2017> find OS4.1FE_ssd: CONTENTS=FIND >ram:a.txt
8.Work1:2017> type ram:a.txt
==== maybe 1000 responses or so ====
8.Work1:2017> find GUIMODE >ram:a.txt
value after keyword missing
8.Work1:2017>
---------------------------------------------------
I am having trouble coming across any sensible documentation in the Documentation folder of the system disk that is connected with my normal use of find via :

1) Mouse cursor on the background
2) Left Mouse Button click
3) Right Mouse Button down, drag to System, then to the right to Find...
4) Right Mouse Button up.

Then there are options to tailor the command to many of one's wishes, but not redirection to saving results to a file.

I have a hard time believing that all those settings for where to search + the other options will translate easily to the command line. Certainly, your suggestion strengthens my disbelief in that.

@jabirulo

We are getting closer, but "find" is missing.

Double clicked left mouse button on OS4.1FE_ssd
Double clicked left mouse button on System
Double clicked left mouse button on Help
[@|Shell Commands]
scrolled down to the f's
The sequence shown is:
failat
fault
filenote
filesize
ftp

That was all of the f's.

Maybe something bizzare happened when I installed OS4.1_FE from iso these many years ago?
