| Hi All
I have just done AmiUpdate and there were two updated for MUI. After bebooting it keeps telling me I have an update:
An update to the MUI5 3rd party contribution classes - detemined by date
Anyone know what I have to do? I have run this update 3 times and updated but keeps telling me to update? _________________ SAM 460 with 2GB or RAM, 1000GB HD, 4 port SATA, DVDRW drive and Radeon HD 4650 GFX card. |

Don't apply the update, it will vansih by itself (date problem). If you've already applied the update, no need to to it again. _________________ PowerMac G5 2,7Ghz - 2GB - Radeon 9650 - MorphOS 3.14 AmigaONE X1000, 2GB, Sapphire Radeon HD 7700 FPGA Replay + DB 68060 at 85Mhz |

Not a real MUI bug, but more or less a nasty AmiUpdate glitch. When publishing an update via AmiUpdate the build date has to be entered in the database. This build date MUST match the date contained in the version file contained in the update archive.
Unfortunately I entered the release date as build date for the MUI contribution archive. This is fixed now. _________________ Why stop it now, just when I am hating it?

I opened a ticket 2 weeks ago regarding a bug in simplemail which appeared after an updated MUI version. so far my account (LioFR) is on pending approval and so is the ticket !
the bug is that I can not move to the next/previous mails using the arrow keys and I am forced to clic with the mouse on each and every mail to see the content, which is annoying... |

I've noticed a glitch that turns up in YAM for a little while now. It keeps telling me about a MCC_TheBar-26.18.lha update but the file URL doesn't exist. I just checked and I have the "non existent" update installed. |

My fault. I usually get mails about new users from the trac system, but these are quite confusing regarding the information whether the user actually confirmed the new account or not. I simply forgot to activate your account back then. It is activated now. _________________ Why stop it now, just when I am hating it?

?? This thread is about AmiUpdate and MUI, not about YAM. Although YAM uses MUI the issue you describe is in no way related to MUI.
Anyway, TheBar is hosted on github now which uses https:// instead of http:// and YAM is still not able to connect to such sites. The solution is to use the "Download in browser" button instead of the "Download" button, or to download the corresponding archive from Aminet, os4depot.net or directly from github with a browser. _________________ Why stop it now, just when I am hating it?

As far as I can see in SimpleMail's source code there is no support for switching mails via cursor keys implemented anywhere. As such there is nothing that MUI could have messed up here.
Perhaps you should contact Sebastian Bauer about SimpleMail related issues first... _________________ Why stop it now, just when I am hating it?

Yes I was aware that the thread wasn't about YAM. I was just making a general comment about updating. Relating it to updating databases.
Thanks for your info. The solution doesn't work here as YAM still thinks there is an update and links to a file that doesn't exist. The YAM issue isn't serious since it doesn't affect usage and I can report it at the proper place if needed.
It does expose another bug where NetSurf crashes but that's another story. |
