@R5D4

I backed both the Apollo and Scourge cases. It did very well in the first week, but the last one and a half slowed down a lot, making it look a little less certain that it will reach the finding goal.

That would be a shame, as replacement (second hand) cases are prone to the same issues of the original case you have - brittle plastics, yellowed plastics, or worn screw threads in the plastics.

The 1200 replacement cases that A1200.net did were very well done, and the keycap project is still coming along nicely. 500 cases with at least the brass screw inserts (as well as not suffering from colour changing in time) will be a godsend so long as it gets off the ground.

I think part of the problem is the high funding level, but that is simply down to needing to make brand new moulds for the case - which was the same problem faced with the original 1200 cases when they launched that project.

Thank you for your support guys!

Two things will happen this week end:

1- Campaign will cross the $100K mark
2- A new LIVE STREAM by Sunday afternoon 5pm (Paris time) simultaneously on Youtube and Facebook.

The campaign is still withing range to reach its goal, so all backers are welcome to join in so the team can get the molds done and all backers to get their cases :D

Thank you for your support, even 1x Case can make a difference.

Cheers,
Phil

@OneTimer1

- Hope you don't mind me asking, but why are you referring to keyboard here?

Sadly & due to the Amiga audience we can't just produce ALL necessary parts at the same time.
However a new keyboard is in R&D.

This thread is about creating molds to then manufacture New Amiga 500 cases only.

However if you're curious about keyboards, the team went public several times already about a new keyboard compatible with A500/A1200/A2K/A3K/A4K & PCs.

You can get detailed information from wednesday interview when AmigaBill hosted me on TWITCH

More precisely @ 39:40

Cheers

@OneTimer1

Why would you want to put a PC keyboard in it? Also PC keyboards have cases so how would it fit it? Or is there caseless keyboards?

Hi Guys,

The team and I would like to thank you all for your incredible support!
You definitively helping us to renew the Amiga Classics parts, and that is no small achievement.

For all further updates on the Amiga 500 campaign, please follow the "Update" link-menu on the campaign page, and you can also register to our newsletter; since all updates are published on there as well.

Please remember that it is always better to ask your questions directly by sending an email using the contact form on www.a1200.net as I don't check all forums daily

And we've just published our first Campaign Update since we reached the goal

Have a look.

Campaign is now under IndieGoGo -InDemand- mode, so that we can hopefully reach the Tank Mouse Replacement Shells Stretch Goal.

Many thanks again to all of you for your tremendous support!

Cheers
