Hello everyone!

I'm an old time Amiga user who now mainly uses Linux at home and Windows at work.

I've got an Amiga 4000D I fire up occasionally, a Power Mac G5 with registered MorphOS (I haven't tried 3.10 yet, but soon) and an Amithlon system too.

I got the urge to write some Amiga-ish software again, so I thought I'd track down a forum and get reacquainted.

@Snorg

If you aren't familiar with "Find the Wumpus" then you haven't been into personal computing since its inception.

Its a game, along with Star Trek, Lunar Lander, and Hangman.
These last three I remember converting into Wang BASIC in order to run them on my High School's computers (before they or I had PCs).

Thanks for the memories.

I hate fantasy project announcements.

If I never post about it, then just know I had fun working on a platform I love for a change of pace.

@arthoropod

It mainly stuck in my head from M.U.L.E, but you're right, it was a nod to the past even in the early 80's.

I love that game, I just can't convince my kids to play it with me.

Yesterday evening I took my C64 Mini with me and I introduced it to my 10-year-old Wii-U-addicted son: "let's play something coming from my youth's age". Could not stop laughing when I saw him in trouble with a joystick ("where's my pad?") and I can't even imagine his reactions if he had to wait 10 minutes or more of loading time before actually playing.

Don't go back that far, only as far back as Choplifter for the 64.

@Hypex

A rose by any other name would smell as sweet.

I on the other hand am a Wumpus... sort of an earthy, peaty aroma with a touch of lilac.

I see a few "welcome backs", but this is my first time here.

Although we may both be ruggedly handsome and have impeccable taste in usernames and operating systems, I'm not your previous Wumpus if in fact there are multiple Wumpii.

@Wumpus,

Welcome back to when computing was fun. Glad you could join the party/troll site.

@Wumpus

Whew! "Hunt for the Wumpus" was the first home computer game I've ever played, back in the '80s... My father bought it for me to play it on our TI99/4A. I spent lots and lots of hours playing it, collecting tons of fun moments.

Thank you for bringing back that memories!
