Then imagine when you are going to play a game today with your son you not played in a couple of weeks or months and have to wait 2 hours to download all the latest updates. Not only the game but OS updates, driver updates etc etc.
This it at least what I have experienced several times so things are even worse in that regard.

Things where better before ;)

Last weekend was my first introduction to a Nintendo Switch. A curious device that seems to lack any latest innovation in 3d graphics. A CD32 could compete. Almost. We got half through gaming until it did an update. Of the controller! I couldn't fanthom why a controller needed an update. It was working fine, did it suddenly break? It wasn't efficient, as it did the controlllers one at a time. I expect these things to work in parallel these days.

No kidding.

Every time I start to play on my Xbox One it wants an update to something.

It played fine the last time!

At least it keeps the system updated as long as it's on, but I don't like leaving it semi-on constantly so I guess I cause some of it.
