Dear Amigans,

After the initial batch of Amiga 1200 replacement cases, a second run (1000+ cases) was ordered by our Retail & Distributions partners Amiga on the Lake (for the North Americas), AmigaStore (for the European Union) and A-EON / AmigaKit (for the United Kingdom).

These are in the colors "Amiga Technologies White", "CDTV Midnight Black" and "Translucent".

Earlier this week we received notifications that the shipments for the UK and the European Union have been shipped and are on the high seas. For the North Americas the shipment is ready for the US Forwarder to collect such that they can be on their merry way soon as well.

Meanwhile the production of the CD32 cases with our Case Manufacturing partner is well underway. Once completed, images will be sent to us such that we can share these with you.

our Amiga Keycaps replacements manufacturing partner (different from the case manufacturer) is also well underway. We are aware of the fact that it took too long for our liking, but we are happy to see that this project is now at full steam and nearing completion as well.

With the Amiga 500 case project underway, we will of course do another Amiga Keycaps replacement campaign with a lower fixed goal and a much faster turn-around time as the injection moldings creation is the most time consuming part.

We will keep you posted and would like to ask your attention once more for our Amiga 500 Case Campaign.. we need your support to make it work!

You are only true vampires : rob all the Amiga 68k energie to make impossible any more powerful Classic return...

To all the users : do NOT buy that stuff, because you will help them to kill the Classic 68k...

@CosmosUnivers

Absolutely true.
We're pure evil, Olivier!

Since these cases have Amiga legend signatures and they're supporting us like David Pleasance & Dave Haynie for instance, I suppose these guys are pure evil as well right?

We're a bit ashamed you always forget to say that we're also Illuminati Reptilian Vampires.

Thank you for your awesomeness Cosmos,

This is a wee bit confusing. I bought 3 A1200 cases during the original campaign. Never thought I was being leeched of my life blood. I also own A Vampire 500 V2+, does this mean I have become one? If so... Oh My!

Amenofis is the biggest crook in our community, with the Apollo Team...

Ask chinese companies about the real cost of the molds and you will understand...

WAKE UP all !

Our "elite" are Microsoft agents with a mission : they are all Trojan horses...

And they want our complicity for killing the 68k with more power...

Maybe you should elaborate, many of us like maintaining and upgrading our old Amiga hardware, these cases will replace crusty old yellow ones which improves the enjoyment of our hobby and helps keep it alive.

If you can make them cheaper then go ahead, if companies involved in the Amiga in this day and age made stuff for little or no profit it wouldn't be worthwhile, Individual computers wouldn't have developed any new hardware in the last decade, or would Elbox still be doing production runs of their hardware.

@Akiko

Have you purchased some cases from Amenofis ?

Please, watch the package : was shipped by China Post, DHL, UPS, Fedex ? Do you remember ?

I need to know that to make some estimations of the real case cost...

(Yes, I had some replies & prices by chinese companies few years ago...)

Just curious.

A1200 license for Amiga name and Boingball

Are the same licenses in place for the "New Amiga 500 Cases"?

Mines were shipped from UK, not China.

I really don't grasp what you are on about, what do you know about making molds like these? I've followed many kickstarters where molds much smaller had to be built, with much more relaxed attention to details, and even they were quite expensive to have built properly.

I love the Amiga, but I never felt scammed by a company producing something I never needed.

It is not their fault if people are buying this cases

Every A1200 was sold with a case, some where later built into towers, there should should be hundreds of used cases in garages and you can still get new original cases as spare parts for a rather low price.

So - according to your own statements - you aren't able to estimate the 'real case cost', yet you are hurling accusations. You know, it is no small thing to slander someone.

I respect some of the contributions you have made; perhaps you could extend the same courtesy to others.

@Snorg

I have an estimation without the shipping cost...

I have no respect for all parasites who created so many problems since the end of Commodore in 1994...

Our fake elite don't help the original 68k, they eat all the energy they can steal, and from the users too...

@amenofis or amenophis

YOU are all faulty : you continue to kill the Classic 68k with insane prices = I continue to reveal the truth to the users...

And why all this greed ? To keep a woman with you ? Ridiculous.

What truth? You haven't said anything quantifiable at all.

What problems has this person/company caused by producing new cases?

Quote:
Our fake elite don't help the original 68k, they eat all the energy they can steal, and from the users too...

Again, how is this not helping the original 68k? They have produced new cases that are going to be purchasable from real stores. They are allowing some who have an original A1200 (like me) who have a very yellow case and this will enable me to make it look like new without the risks of retro-brighting. I'll be storing my case in the loft.

Quote:

Again please explain what you mean my "more powerful Classic" return? There will be no "Classic" return as the 68k line of processors are dead, a long time ago.

Quote:
do NOT buy that stuff, because you will help them to kill the Classic 68k...

Again can you provide examples of how this will kill classic 68k?

Quote:

I have no contacts for being able to ask, seeing as you seem to have and know (based on that statement) why not explain what you actually mean?

Quote:

Where is your proof. Not to mention why on earth would M$ care about some small, backwards computer that has had no real presence in over 30 years?

The definition of a scam is "an illegal plan for making money, especially one that involves tricking people*". They have gotten permission to use the logo, have produced actual cases that have been sent out, these will be purchasable from Amiga stores so will have actually stock to sell. How is this a scam? Just because you don't like the pricing? Product costs isn't just about the price of the raw components, it is also about the time taken to design and produce it, as well has material costs (plus postage for those to the factory) and licensing fees. Otherwise Apple products would probably cost much less.

*According to the Cambridge Dictionary

@CosmosUnivers

This is the second time recently you've suddenly cropped up accusing others of killing the 68k CPU and being Microsoft or Intel agents. Amigans are a strange bunch at the best of times, but that's just way out there with flat Earth levels of idiocy. What's happened - has your medication changed or something?

As others have said, if you can do it cheaper, then why don't you? Show these evil nasty 68k murderers up by beating them at their own game. Of course, for a level playing field, you'll also need to obtain a licence to use the Amiga name on the cases. Now, we all know you don't care about such petty things as licences, but you'll need to sort that out anyway in order to be sure you're supplying an equivalent product, and keeping it all legal.

Anyway, as others have mentioned, I'm really not getting the link between a "luxury" product that isn't necessary in any way (all my A1200s work exactly as well now, without these cases, as they would with them), is causing harm to a market. It's one hell of a mental jump you're taking there. For those of us who are less "woke" than you, please break it down into simple steps that us mere mortals can understand.

Thanks for your hard work and progress
Having options within the community is always good.

@CosmosUnivers

So could you coherently and clearly put forward spesific details about what your alternatives are?
Not in a perfect world that you dream up, but realistic alternatives, and then say who are working on this solution. Are you working on an option?

What you have posted so far is just ramblings without any spesific infomation usable to evaluate the merits of your comments.

@all

This thread must require prior knowledge of something I don't know about, because I have no idea what the controversy is about.

Update:

It appears one can use HTML which shows up in the preview but is deleted in the final post. Very odd.
