Events   Events : Default NewsTek Episode #15 - iPhone 6 Launch and Classic Amiga iPhone games
   posted by DiscreetFX on 21-Sep-2014 22:11:01 (2240 reads)
NewsTek Episode #15

For Episode #15 of the NewsTek Show we are live at the Chicago Michigan Ave Apple store for the launch of iPhone 6. About 500 people lined up to get their iPhone 6 & 6 Plus Smart Phones. We asked if anyone was going to play some retro Amiga games on their brand new iPhone's and unfortunately got blank stares. Not sure if the modern public is aware of what the Amiga is/was. It shows there is still a lot of work to do to bring Amiga brand awareness back to the general public.

IMHO you made 2 errors:

1) You made wrong choice of asking about Amiga to a bunch of Macholic youngsters up to buy their new toy.

2) You forgot to bring with you an "old" iPhone4 or 5 with Amiga Emulator installed on, and letting people made play "on the road" try of Amiga games to let them aware of what you are promoting.

iPhone users are a mass of stupid bimbos. They could not understood talk questions unless they don't get shown pictures of topics.

I read once it was...

iAmiga from coder group Manomio

And at Store also pretended AmigaShell being removed from it because they fear iphone could being hacked from emulator...

So Manomio wad forced to release single games on AppStore on an Amiga emulator that was stripped out of all features....

I clicked, but the YouTube window says the video is private.
What's that all about?

You bring something that has nothing to do with the Amiga.

And the video isn't even accessible... While there's still no Aladdin for OS4/MOS: I wish you had the decency to at least admit you failed and that it won't be released...

Oh wait! A developer is working on it, right?

@Leo

Not sure why you bring up Aladdin4D in this thread, there is no relation. Anyway here is a screen shot of Aladdin4D 6.0 for AROS.

@ggw

It seems the settings on the video have been changed since the article was posted as it was working at that time.

The biggest issue I had with it when I watched it was that the mic levels were awful - it was very hard to actually hear the anchor and any of the responses.

Sorry for the bad audio. Was on the phone with Sony troubleshooting my camera all yesterday morning. Turns out out I have a bad mic input port.

It can happen on older prosumer cameras sometimes. My Sony FX1 is 8 years old. Sony can fix it but they are offering me a compelling offer to trade in and get a nice discount on a 4K Camera. I was going to do that next year anyway so I think I'll take advantage of that. In the meantime I'll continue and try to salvage what audio I can and reupload the video tonight.
