Do you have AVCodec installed? http://www.hollywood-mal.com/download.html

OS X and most Amiga versions probably need it.

I was going to check it out and ask for permission to upload it to Aminet. Your last game was fun, so I was looking forward to this.

After spending some time fighting with the abysmal store client you are forcing me to use, I finally managed to locate and download the Linux version. I needed the avcodec plugin, it would complain about being unable to open an mp3 file otherwise. I got the plugin, its readme mentions an "installation" of some sort without explaining what I'd actually have to do to "install" the plugin properly - so I simply dumped it in the same directory as the game executable (which wasn't actually executable after downloading, I had to set the X bit manually).

Now it crashes with a memory access fault when I run it. Maybe that's because I'm on 64 bit while the plugin is only available in a 32 bit version, no idea. I don't have enough motivation left to go through the whole process again to try out the Amiga version, so I guess I'm out.

@cg
Bugalla released it there because of the developer bonus.
A normal website access will be provided soon and than you can take your own abysmal website print it out and clean your ass with it.

Sorry about that Cgutjahr, I have almost no experience about Linux and hence dont have much idea how it works with Linux if it even does. I just thought to make executable since it was in Hollywood options and trust that if someone wishes to play it with Linux he will be able to get it to work.

Windows version and AOS3 with Amikit are only versions I have actually tried, on rest I am just hoping they work right.

On top of that, I have unfortunately misunderstood about hollywoods single exe idea, as i always thought it loads stuff from it as needed, but actually it loads all the samples to memory before starting the game, hence this game sucks 200 Mb of Ram from Amikit and takes ages to even start.

I will start using different philosophy in my future products and start loading stuff as needed basis instead of using single exe approach (which even failed).

This one however, and unfortunately to large extent coming "Kings of Israel - board game" too, will suffer from my old approach.

I also had thought that Hollywood had MP3 support in itself, but actually it seems most of platforms need that AVCodec plugin, hence my original plan of single exe which could be copied to everywhere and ran, didnt work out after all, except for Windows (and i suppose android) version in which the MP3 player is inside it, plus AOS3 which is now using Wavs (and taking 150 Mb of space instead of 25 mb like the other MP3 versions).

I was actually planning to contact you in future in hopes of getting you to upload final versions to aminet to save myself that trouble again (thanks from the last time with Help My Cat! by the way), when i first decide which the final version will be.

I will look for maybe 2 weeks wether to make a final version release of this game, or to leave it as it is.
Thing is, There was supposed to be 3 trial cases in this game, and now there are only two. I however already had a plan for the third one done and even some graphic and speech, but simply didnt have time to make it anymore before the competition deadline. Hence I am still considering if I should spend one more day on this and make that third case in place, and perhaps fix at least one bug in which case player might be figuring out the right thing, but game not reacting to it making pig case never getting solved in that case.

But until I come to conclusion about that final release, my plan is to keep this Indiego exclusive, partly in hopes of getting that developer bonus as well as i feel that it is thanks to Indiegos existence that it became easy enough for me to finally finish and release the Help my Cat! after which I have been working on projects with much more serious attitude.

Huh this is not about business it is about personal differences between two people. Cg seems to fear any competition to his aminet. At least he tries to do the best to shit storm against other offerings, announced rules how to handle news about amistore and indiego AppStore.

Also he is always telling how shitty my ideas are or unrealistic or whatever.
So if he likes to play this way I will as well.
Look I have enough new users who never heard about Amiga at all so I don't see me as competition to aminet.

I ignore Amiga-News and the minimum respect I hope to get from him is to stay away from my projects. He is also a sort of official guy, works on a news platform so he should keep his opinion for himself.

My offer is to keep way from anonymous posting nazi(yesterday there was again such a stupid post) Amiga-news in exchange for no cg comments and attacks against my projects. Seems simple to me.

I got two hints who could stay behind those nationalistic posts.. Really stupid if even a websearch tell names if you search for a party name of weimarer republic in context with Amiga.

@phoenixkonsole / cgutjahr

Look, I know you two have a history, but please stop the personal attacks. I am not going to ask nicely again.
