To paraphrase Star wars "The more you tighten your grip, the more systems will slip through your fingers" - very apt i think.

Oh and hello, i'm new to the forum

Welcome!

It is true then, that all answers lies within the wisdom of Star Wars. May the force be with us all.

This article would be more accurate if it didn't imply that Microsoft might be losing its grip to Apple. Microsoft has a lot invested in Apple and the Macintosh line, on top of that, Apple is potentially facing two class-action lawsuits over hardware problems with their products.

Is Microsoft losing it's grip? probably...is it losing it to Mac? not really, Microsoft products exist on Macintosh too.

That's not so much of a threat now that Apple have admitted that some iBooks have serious problems with their logic boards. Of course, it's not the only problem that's been reported, but it's a start. I sent mine back for free repair yesterday, and was told to expect its return in a week

I hope M$ doesn't lose outright... I NEED gamez!!!!!!!! Linux on an x86 just doesn't have the support for games as M$ provides. What would happen to Call of Duty parts 3,4 and5?!

Until Apple issues MacOS licenses to other HW manufactures, Apple has its own problems with its MacOSX/Apple box model/non-standard HW form factor**.
It seems that article's creator has forgotten Cross Office for Linux X86, Sun's StarOffice6 and IBM's OS/2 Warp 4.5 with Odin add-on.

Disclosure of the "criteria and methodology" is important in any statistical presentation.

**Refer to the gutted PowerMac G5 issue as an example...

I don't even want to imagine what that kid's parents will do, if they realize what he did to $2,500+ worth of present.

Wow!

Hi all,

I hope that M$not don't loose their grip (too much). We don't want the script kiddies, hackers, slackers, and virus authors concentrating their efforts on another OS !!
