A new version of GoldED AIX has just been released.

Information about the new features and the latest files are available at http://golded.dietmar-eilert.de/news.htm

- GoldED Studio AIX is a text editor and integrated C/C++ development environment for AmigaOS and MorphOS. The latest upgrade implements many new interface customization options. GoldED includes a complete set of gcc-based development tools for AmigaOS and MorphOS in an easy-to-use package with mouseclick installation. Sample screenshot (new-look example):

- microgolded is a simple, low-cost version of GoldED; this editor is designed for casual users, not for developers.

Well, being involved in C programing for a couple weeks, i'm very interested in having an IDE.
Very interested indeed.

But how on Earth can i actually BUY this Golded Studio AIX ?
Maybe i haven't paid enough attention, but i couldn't see any way of buying the stuff.

Do you guys have any info about that ??

Good question. I couldn't find a way to buy the product either, so I mailed the author. He gave me this link: http://golded.dietmar-eilert.de/golded/webshop.htm
I still haven't been able to find this page on his website by simply searching, but the direct link works fine.
I've ordered and received gED so now I'm just waiting for you-know-what...

The top of the page also has four colored blocks with the different products listed. The right most block (the orange one) says in big letters "BUY".

I'm not sure if it's localised (I'm at work right now, so I can't check), but the program is completely in English.

Well I just used paypal to order GoldEd AIX ( which hopefully runs ok on OS4 ) but when you confirm the payment it goes to a url that doesnt exist ( so I guess many people haven't gone this route before! ) but Ive got the email receipt so Ill report back how the transaction goes. Maybe do a mini-review.

In my experience, the best way to order from Dietmar is to send him an e-mail (address on the contacts page) stating what you want to buy, then he can send you a PayPal invoice or explain the other payment options.

I've ordered GoldEd AIX and two large upgrades on CD this way without any problems and his service has always been prompt.

It's a pity the website isn't clearer on how you can order now that AIX is only available directly.

HTH

Robert

I wouldn't worry too much about that. The same thing happened to me, but a few days later the CD appeared in my mailbox.

BTW, I recently installed gED on my WinUAE setup, and was pleased to see it seems to be ready for the OS4 SDK (OS4 directories are present in addition to 68k and morphos), and according to the changelog some OS4 modifications are made.
