News   News : AmigaShare Update
posted by choochy on 4-Jun-2004 18:54:29 (2652 reads)
Just a quick update!

Firstly, Steffen Haeuser has kindly handed us his ports of the following applications, compiled to run natively on OS4:

Stella, xMame, xMess, xCPMame and xNEOMame

They are all freely available at softwarelibrary.amigashare.com

Secondly, we have been working hard at getting the new layout and cleaner look finished, We hope to have this completed this by the end of the weekend or early next week.

Lastly, we are also working hard on the sponsorship program and hope to have this up and ready within the next couple of weeks.

Regards,

Chris Nillissen

No Paypal needed!!! we have our own ecommerce gateway. So it saves on fees and means more money goes to the developers!

FarCry is nice, would be cool if one could collect (loads of) money to get some kind of system wide license for the engine, i dont think they would mind that much. They probably think the amiga systems are between 1 and 2 users anyway. Just maybe we could see more than one game then, but i would settle for farcry alone, or halflife2...

Yup HL2 would be excellent, as would Call of Duty, or Battlefield 1942: DC...

Half-Life 1-2: no way! Valve doens't give the licence for any other OS than Windows. Valve CEO worked for 13 years in microsoft's offices.

I want a new version of ScummVM

Excellent!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The game HL2 would be excellent, if it weren't for two things:

1) That buggy Steam

2) Like you said, Valve only licences out to Windows...

But it is a great dream though isn't it?

Eheh! The only reason bacause i use my father's pc one/two times a week is bacause i need it to play Half-Life modification with my clan. now Steam is much more better, a lot of bugs have been fixed, but it slow. Maybe it is Windows to be sloooow

Sorry for the OT!

I love AmigaShare

Battlefield 1942 would probably be a good candidate for porting. It's made by digital illusions, who used to make some great amiga games. So if Fredrick Liljegren and Co are still with them we might be able to appeal to their inner amigans :)
