Well I guess the rumor was not a hoax. But there is no C= Amiga to be found either.

Yeah. I'd visited their site this week and read about their plan to release, what was essentially, a Joystick with C64 games built in:
Tulip Computers launches Commodore 64 mini game console

Quote:
With a simple and straightfoward to use connection to the TV, users of the C64 Direct-to-TV can play 30 popular C64 games. This will be the first of a whole series of entertainment products of which Tulip Computers will launch on the market using the Commodore name and label.

The expected retail price will be approximately ? 30,-. The product will be available in shops in Europe and the United States in the second half of 2004.

This looks like a pretty fun toy, but where did they manage get licensing for Epyx games? It is very similar to the atari joystick game console, and I'm sure that was the inspiration.

Mainly because they paid a lot of money for it.

And that's a good thing imho.

But perhaps they're making Amiga_in_a_joystick, similar to the C64-thingie.

Tulip and Commodore...suddenly a decade old quote springs to mind... Remember Alex Amor, after losing the bankruptcy auction? "I'm going to grow flowers."

Maybe Tulip should have abided by their name and done the same.

I would have preferred it in joypad form as joysticks suck. Also a RGB SCART connection would be nice, but at at least grotty composite acts a bit like anti-aliasing!

I remember the Amstrad answer phone that lets you play speccy games. Perhaps Tulip could do a Commodore one and we can have that old rivialery again.

@Bobsonsirjonny,

It looks like you are being goosed judging by your new avatar!

That is simply disgusting..

Why can't they leave Commodore alone, and let the memories live...?

I think Tulip has some money problems, so they use the Commodore brand to make some money from the people who remember the legend and will buy everything junk branded as Commodore.

It's a shame!
Shame on you Tulip!

I saw something similar to this at the local market... just a stick and a tv set...

Looked like Nintendo games to me, but I couldn't be sure... £20 eac IIRC.

I wouldn't mind a C64 one, but a usb memory stick option would be nice so I could play all my tape images.

Sky.

The system in use here handles certain words automatically. The particular words, I think, are the sort that are Bleaped-out in American television. Americans LOVE guns but hate certain words!!!

One way to get your meaning across is to disquise your word by replacing odd letters, but leaving enough that astute readers can decode the actual meaning! Yeah -- I know; its a barst3ard!

Check out the history section.

They mention that ESCOM bought Commodore, including Amiga.

Then they buy something in 1997, bu they fail to mention that in 1997, they did not buy Amiga, just "Commodore".

I can see confusion already !!
