A few Q's for any of the Hyperion folks that might read this:

The PThreads bit in the SDK slide, is about posix thread "emulation" right?

And how optimised is the pager?

Judging by the GUI widgets I'd say 3.11. Still quite cool though

Nice reading, all of the updates to the OS - this is looking better and better.
I guess that the PC task version shown is still 68k? Maybe if the sources still exist it could have been ported to PPC code by some enthusiasts - or is it tied heavily to the old architechture? Maybe it would have been fast enough to run Windows 95/98 and more recent versions of Word etc. for compatibility... well, not that creating a new PC emulator should be a big priority, but.. well, would have been nice, or?

ughugh!: (cool nick btw) umm first of all that pctask doesnt say if its 68k or not and most of all it wasnt run at the show, was just a teaser(a pic).

the guy behind this havent released much info yet so we can only hope its ppc but then again i hate pc so

i know pctask ran windows 9x on my classic but yes it was slow! and very slow ...

i expect to get some info of this asap as im sure there is alot of people interested in things like windows emu and mac emu's etc....

and most of all...maybe a benchmark

"ISO for Classics"

Now that is sure to make a few people happy.

I also didn't realize that AWeb was PPC native now. It's all a nice read. Sure makes you look back and see how far things have progressed in a short while.

Am I reading this right?

Is this what's in the update or or this the final release list?

@ Toaks

The Grab is just 68K PCTask4.4 which was the last update Chris Hames released for PC-Task . I had an email from many years ago and he had ported most of the ASM to C ready for PCTask5 which was going to be PPC. However, he never finished or released it. Maybe if some knows his whereabouts (Australia IIRC) they could get in touch with him.

A better Grab can be seen here:

PCTask

It's an Ogg Vorbis / WAV / AIFF audio player I'm doing. Currently only has a boring Reaction UI, but should become skinnable in the near future. Features like a playlist, media library, and network play are also planned or already supported. Also planned is mod/tracker support
