posted by Russ on 18-Oct-2004 16:17:06 (2453 reads)
Mr. Hardware Computers is pleased to announce the Amiga East Show 2005, scheduled to be held on May 28th and 29th, 2005 at the Marriott Courtyard, LaGuardia, just across from LaGuardia Airport in NYC, NY.

2005 is the 20th Anniversary of Amiga and also Mr. Hardware Computers. A great time to celebrate our precious computer. There will be guest speakers, featuring industry veterans, experts in Amiga who will be presenting free seminars and demos of products. The show will feature the latest new Amiga hardware and software. There will be many exhibitors and resellers in the Exhibits Hall on Saturday and Sunday, including major vendors and shareware developers. We are also adding a Dev Con to the show. Contact us if you would like to participate in programming for OS4 apps.

This seems to be missing from the anouncement.

Sounds like a show you must not miss. And guess what I have to do? Yes, miss it. Somehow a plain ticket including hotel and all does not fit in the budget. Is there some live coverage from the show?

Well, according to Hotwire.com, Plane tickets from Minneapolis are about $230 US round trip, and hotel is $160 a night. That's very doable.

BTW, round trip tickets are only $510 EUR from London, $505 EUR from Stockholm

I checked ticket prices from Melbourne as well, but at $3,870 AUD I don't think we'll be seeing any Bodies at the event

thanks for the welcome, everyone.
I took my time joining here (been at amiga org for a while), but I have looked in now and again.

I will be at AmigaEast (in fact I made the web banner that russ is using) and I am determined to make this a positive experience for everyone. WE should be celebrating the fact that what has kept Amiga alive all these years is US!

not companies - NewTek is really the only large company that was loyal to the Amiga concept. (yes, there have been "smaller" companies like NovaDesign, but I think you all know what I mean)

So, this one is for US. for all who have written aminet programs, made Workbench backgrounds and icons and other pics, for all who have written docs, and anything that was helpful to Amiga Users.

It's been some twenty years and we should be proud of ourselves for keeping the dream alive.

JurassicCamper is excellent with a needle and thread - we could pay him to sew red squares to a white baloon

?510 in real money ( ) is... about £200.. that is very reasonable when you take into account that to travel by train (in the end we hired a car) to BB2 would have cost £180 per person cos of some line faults forceing us up country..

As it happends in the car we kinda forced ourselves 100 odd miles down country.. RTFM now stands for Read the ' ef ' ing Map

Oh - and welcome Cecilla

Correction. The hotel rate is $105 plus tax not $160. When ordering online type
"amic" in the group code

"Well, according to Hotwire.com, Plane tickets from Minneapolis are about $230 US round trip, and hotel is $160 a night. That's very doable."
