although it sounds like good news, I can't help but wonder whether or not you actually mean a Quake- and not QuakeWorld-server? Further, I'd really like to know if you will set the game rules to "Deathmatch 1" or "Deathmatch 3" (the latter ruins, in my opinion, the game altogether as weapons don't spawn. Everyone runs along with rocket launchers and shafts making all other weapons virtually useless.

Speak to DaveyD about what technical version of Quake we are talking about.
As for me, as long as a server for Q2 is made available, I am happy
- and yes I am crap at it

...like this one, a Quake 2 fragfest! Just a shame the server can't run on OS4 just yet

| Great! It's been a while since I last played Quake. Actually the last time I played was against Wouter van Oortmerssen (aka Aardappel) and his friends, he is the coder who developed the Amiga programming language AmigaE and also started the SHEEP project for the AmigaDE.
He's a huge Quake fan. |

IOW, may want to raise the bar a bit on the donations meter, so new users don't assume 'oh, they don't need any $.
Of course, if nothing is needed (hah!), could always split donation $ between an AW sponsored code/project bounty and needs of AW staff/hardware/etc...
(and yes, I made a donation )

Well, why not an AmigaONE computer for developers ?
AmigaWorld can then lend this AmigaONE to software developers for a week or month etc. so they can port their software to OS4. |
