Software News   Software News : E-UAE-0.8.27 released
   posted by MikeB on 7-Jan-2005 22:35:55 (4890 reads)
Taken from Richard Drummond's website:

"Faster, more compatible, more stable. Optimizations in the 68k interpreter for x86, PPC and 68k hosts give 5% more speed on average, and, thanks to some compiler tweaks, this version runs around 20% faster on OS X. Also, fixes to the core emulation merged from WinUAE 0.9.9x means better compatibility with Amiga software. Finally, there's a raft of bug-fixes. See the README for more details and the ChangeLog for the full story. Binaries for all supported platforms will be available shortly."

And the doc is updated too!!!! Evilrich still rocking

Only the sdl version works here on OS4. The other version displays gardbled pixels on the led bar at the bottom and doesn't display anything on the window.

The non-SDL version works fine here, just tried it. I use an 800x600 16-bit screen.

It feels a bit faster and I really like that the ASL-requesters are opened on the
same screen that UAE runs on. Good work!

Nice work, I can now boot up, OS3.5, using virtual disk!!!
the speed is acceptable, now the only thing missing is P96 emulation support and JIT.

That's definitely odd. What screenmode were you using? What gfx chipset do you have? My first guess would to be to suspect a bug in rtg.library or the chipset driver. What versions of these do you have?

Cheers,
Rich

The version built against SDL support the P96 emulation.

@evilrich
Is there any difference in speed between the SDL and "normal" versions?

Not a significant difference in general. The "normal" version may have a slight performance advantage.

I found a bug, this line is ignored by E-UAE (none SDL version)

amiga.floppy_path=Work:Emulator/ADF-DISK

It's annoying having to boot the PC everytime I want to compile a 68k version of my stuff in WinUAE.. would be nice if I could do it on the A1. Does this uae have a startup GUI?

Great work! Is there already someone that made a nice icon for this program?

It works okay here. You need to use the pseudo-variable $(FILE_PATH) to specify that a floppy image to mount is relative to the floppy_path. For example:

floppy0=$(FILE_PATH)/some_floppy.adf

The insert-floppy file requester doesn't currently default to floppy path - which is a bug.

No. But should be able to use your config file from WinUAE if you adjust the file paths it contains.

If anybody has, please fling it my way too. I'd especially be interested in an icon which conveys the concept of "Amiga emulator" but doesn't infringe any Amiga, Inc. trademarks. Anybody got any ideas?

Rich

E-UAE will most likely end up being the most used game-provider on my UA1-C once those magic gfx-filters arrive and speed a bit faster!
So I've made my humble donation of 10USD, modest since I've used WINUAE for ages really.

@evilrich

Forget about it. It was caused by the last beta ATIradeon.chip
