It worked fine for me. I just had to either turn off the A1 before updating or run IDE Reset with the CD in the drive and it ran fine off my SIL Controller. |

| All had worked fine before, the buggy? A1XE systems mb ide dissabled. Delete this. Baah. Got to double or triple posts allready sorry! Used to the A1 and the A1200 seems so slow that I clicked twice when "nothing happened" I hope I could delete my own messages(OFFTOPIC). Last edited by PR on 09-Mar-2005 at 06:23 PM.

| Just curious. With the new SLB, does anyone know if you can use the menu to select OS4 or Linux if both are already installed on separate hard drives? I don't think it was possible with the previous SLB. |

| Got it to work thanks to help from the closed site. This was it:
printenv ide
and see if you get the response,
ide=sii
If not issue the following commands, ; I didn't
setenv ide sii saveenv
printenv ide
If you now get ide=sii you can repeat the command,
ide reset ; Finally :)
and this time you should see all the IDE devices.
I wanted to put this here if anyone still has the same problem like I messed up.

| So, I'm quessing that variables have to be re-set to run Linux with a dual-disk on ORIGINAL (INTERNAL) Controller? Just using "diskboot" at the prompt NOW just results in a "** No valid controller specified **" message! |

| I done the second update to os 4 then done the firmware update all works very well and i can now use my usb card reader wich on os 4 displays 2 icons one for the internal 16 mb memory of the card reader and one was for the compact flash card .windows only shows an icon for the internal memory if there are no memory cards inserted in the reader this will make copying files between pc an amiga so easy and hassle free.
Top job to the people involved in the update. |
