Software News   Software News : Flashback the game! Reborn on Amiga!
posted by Toaks on 4-Apr-2005 20:24:09 (6716 reads)
A few minutes ago i dumped REminiscene 0.1.4 onto os4depot.

REminiscence is a re-implementation of the engine used in the game Flashback
made by Delphine Software and released in 1992.

The well known game should be very welcome to all OS4 users out there.

it's downloadable from http://os4depot.net/

The engine currently only supports PC version.

Screenshots of Flashback can be found here: http://hol.abime.net/568/screenshot

Small note: The Engine has sound/music and video support.

enjoy this wicked game.

Big "Thank you" to frak for the makefiles and to mrcapehill for his interest in helping out when sorely needed.

dunno if anyones doing a conversion, but love to see DosBox for OS4, i think ive tried the 68k version with no success or just dead slow. But theres some good old games that didnt make it to Amiga at the time of DOS 5 -> Dos 6.22

Agreed, i remember aspects of the amiga version being better, but the were some missing anims or at least cut down version of them.

theamigaone:

check the screenshot department here at aw..

i grabbed dosbox screenshot and put it on there , its still in dev so...

still working on it to be "acceptable" in terms of speed and so on, really dosbox is a monster and well its even slow on a souped up pc...thats atleast what i have been told.

is it just me or is this game alot faster than on a classic amiga? it took me a few minutes to adjust, but I think I like the faster version now.

SZAMAN:

you need the PC VERSIOn and it must be the complete one, demo or whatever will not work sadly.

so have a look around for it, also make sure its (3-4MB's) .

a more precise report is welcome if u actually met a bug (though i havent seen that myself)

cheers
