Good to see companies filling the little gaps that should have been filled by Eyetech.

Where is Eyetech anyway?

Never mind that! I just hope that most people have the decency to cough up ¤8.00 and reward soft3 for their work in getting these backplates, I know that all of us have coughed up for the A1 already, but IMHO, ¤8.00 is peanut money to say thank you.

This looks like the Intel Caveman I/O shield spec, but it seems to be a little short on the right side (by the audio/joystick ports)

It does. The backplate even looks exactly like the one that came with my PC tower ;)

This looks like a standard backplate to me. Any cheapo ATX case includes one like this. Why would anyone need to buy this?

Kind regards,

Dennis

I went to their website tonight

"Bandwidth Limit Exceeded
The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to the site owner reaching his/her bandwidth limit. Please try again later"

That looks like the thing that came with my Antec Aria case.

What is this??? I have already two of these STANDARD backplates.

I would like a REAL µA1 backplate which have the real holes and descriptions.

For example Antec Aria case is delivered with this backplate, also my PC case
which I bought had this backplate.

Eyetech should address this problem and make an custom backplate for all
µA1 users IMHO.. Though it's nice that someone tries to do their job, but they
shouldn't have to..

I'm not spreading crap. I'm just letting everyone know (yes, in order to help) that if they want THAT backplate for their ma1, then head to your nearest chinese computer shop and walk out with anything between one and 2 million of those generic backplates...

@ Framiga

Now listen to me ! If you are refering to me, I was just wondering why A1XE boards might need this because I thought they where standard form factor boards and thus would not need it !

And I said it was great for uA1's !!

Cut it out will you !!!!

Martin

Please don't go there...

I don't get it, people are getting so damn sensitive these days. There is nothing special about Amiga forums. Wake up and smell the world we're all living in. It's not pretty, I know, but we have to learn to live with it and accept other peoples (sometimes rude) comments.

Anyway, thanks Max for your offer. It's great that you pointed out that there's a place to get fast, cheap and easy access to these backplates.

Well why dont you tell Mai to do it since they make the boards for eyetech?

I notice anytime anyone offers to bring something to help, a lot of you sure make a big deal and do what you can to flame them. Whats your deal? Its sad.

Yup, thats the standard ATX backplate that comes with any el-cheepo atx tower. Now I can estimate generously that it's worth aproximately 5p, perhaps less given the mass manufacture of the things.

I have one sitting on my desk ready for the bin from my new tower, if anyone wants it they can have the piece of crap.

8 euro is a ripoff, although I appreciate any amiga dealer I must say that if you pay for that you are a mug.
