Performance? OS4 flies.

Please, read the interview again before jumping into such conclusions. JFF and the rest of the Patchers have done tremendous job with JST and WHDLoad. Without them we would not be able to play games like James Pond on our accelerated Amigas, and they continue doing their job for the foreseeable future. The work they do benefit us AmigaOne/OS4 owners too, since we can play the patched games onthe great E-UAE.

So please, don't nail the man because he (at the moment) does not want to jump into AmigaOne bandwagon.

Hope he will change his mind with regard to AmigaOS4 in the future. But WHDLoad rocks both on classics and through WinUAE! You can register it here.

If E-UAE becomes on par with WinUAE (E-UAE is based on a WinUAE core) WHDLoad will rock on AmigaOS4 as well.

WHDLoad on OS4? Running AGA games on RTG? That would be wonderful.

@GrumpyOldMan

i was refering to this comment taken from the interview !!!!

I think the future belongs to Linux & Windows. It's better to have a PPC for the amiga, but that's too expensive. And the OS cannot be better than Windows or Linux in terms of peripherals, drivers and performance.

but yes its good to see old games run on new hw

But at least he didn't say "Amiga sucks, future belongs to Windows and Windows only" - then you could say he has really turned to dark side

As for the rest - well, he is IMHO not so far from truth - Linux and Windows (and MacOS) have some advantage when it comes to drivers and peripherals (mind you I am not a OS4 beta tester so I am comparing only to current OS4 Pre-Release I have on my AmigaOne).

here is what you do:

Send 1 AmigaOne to JFabre and one to Bert Jahn (including os4) , then put up a donation page for an whdload os4 native.

a few months later they have dumped their pc's and whdload os4 is a reality

umm do we live in a perfect world or what?
