News   News : Which games do you want Re Mastered for AmigaONE?
posted by _Steve_ on 23-Feb-2003 0:35:20 (1948 reads)
It is already known that Hyperion Entertainment plan to re-master a number of their games following the official launch of the AmigaOne. However, there is a strong desire for other games to be re-mastered with Amiga Games Hit Parade running a poll to determine which games people would like to see re-mastered for the AmigaOne.

The results so far seem to encompass a diverse range of genres including hit games such as Turrican 2 at number 1, followed by Alien Breed 3D 2, Frontier Elite 2, Speedball 2 and Hunter. Classic games have also climbed high in the chart like Defender Of The Crown, Gods, Shadow Of The Beast, and Stunt Car Racer.

If want to participate in the poll then visit the Amiga Games Hit Parade website.

While I do like the odd thrash about on a game, and I do enjoy good stratedgie games such as civilization, I personally don't care to see ANY games re-mastered at the moment. All I care about is the release of OS4, and the subsequent release of extremely powerful apps.

Once the Amiga is back on track with some powerful applications, THEN I'll worry about games. For now the Games are at the bottom of my list.

I'm sure many of you will disagree with me though ;)

While getting the OS finished is paramount (and no other things are interfering with that at Hyperion), I wouldn't mind an updated Stunt Car Racer with more tracks and more players....like a big monster internet race with 8+ people challenging on some mad rollercoaster tracks

Even an updated F1GP would be nice after all F1 on the PSX rocked, and the PC has all those lovely F1GP1, 2 3 and 4 games.

While kicking apps are good from the serious point of view, 90% of the population buy a machine for kicking games primarily. If your machine can provide them (and original ones at that too not just ports of existing ones) then people notice your machine and consider investing in one, while at the same time more people are interested in developing for the machine - which is after all the goal you want to see.

You have good taste in games. A remastered stunt car racer would be awsome. I would also love a remastered armour geddon II code name hellfire.

But yes games are bottom of thte list becauase we are just still getting back onto our feet after several setbacks. The amiga will be back when OS 4.0 will be available.

P.S. Sorry if i gave any wrong impressions due to incorrect spelling.( today being 26/02/2003)

I personally had fun with "Fire Power" the capture the flag with tanks game. It's free now, so I assume it will work fine under AmigaOS 4?

Pinball Fantasies, Shadow of The Beast, Speed Ball 2, Body Blows, Swiv, okay a lot games :)

I'd like to see an updated version of Shanghai that runs directly under OS4...
