Software News   Software News : 20th Anniversary Bonus Pack for AmigaOS 4.0 released
   posted by AmigaPapst on 22-Jul-2005 14:58:21 (9106 reads)
Leuven, Belgium - 22. July 2005

To commemorate the upcoming 20th anniversary of the launch of the Amiga platform on July 23rd, Hyperion Entertainment is pleased to provide registered AmigaOS 4.0 users with a special treat in the form of a much improved version of Intuition and several "themes".

This new version of Intuition unlocks functionality which demonstrates the very high degree of customisation of the user-interface which is now possible under AmigaOS 4.0.

Here are some screenshots of the themes in action:

The "Default" theme (for reference).
The "Atez" theme.
The "ZAmi" theme.
The "Classic" theme.
The "MT" theme.

You can find the download
here. Enjoy!

The cool-o-meter is WAY through the roof on the classic theme. The rest look kinda ace too.

Cheers Hyperion.

@Paul

Just with Zami. Even after a reboot it still locks up when I selected it. But after some more tries I could select it and it came thru.

Hi Coder,

I have some problems finding it.

Choose 'design' from the top menu, then 'wallpaper'. You'll find them in the 2001 and 2002 sections.

You did remember to cold-reboot after installing? Let me know if it happens again in the future.

Edit: Oops, too slow to reply, I see you have already rebooted. Not sure what the problem might be right now.

@Mason

32bit Masonicons...

Can you give us a preview of your latest work? Are you setting the tone for the final icon set to be released with OS 4 when it debuts its major release??

It could also help running the Pre-OS4.0 CD and just install the theme you want to use and choose it from there using the GUI that is on your OS4 partition that way. It should prevent the lock some of you mentioned. It's just a thought

@mattk

I found the wallpapers.

I just changed from Zami to Atez and it locked up. I shut down the computer and changed from Zami to MT which worked. I saved it and tried to change it to Atez but got a lockup. I shut down the computer and tried again from MT to Atez and it worked. So I need a reboot. If I change a theme and it is set and I want to change it again I need to reboot to make it work.

I noticed this at Hyperions' site. This is what they say is important:

NOTE: You need AmigaOS 4.0 developer pre-release update 3 installed on your machine in order to use the themes.

Agreed, and I suggest people use it for a day at least to remind themselves that its what is inside that counts!

Good tip! I am running that and I will try to see if this is causing it.

By the way, if you want to set the background you need to have a picture in the theme's folder? I cannot select a background with Atez.
