This is excellent news! Much improved Javascript, AmiSSL V3. We're getting better and better browsers at last! Congratulations to the Ibrowse team! Only one step closer to the much-talked about IBrowse V3!!!

Excellent!

The one missing feature that will make a world of difference to my Amiga browsing experience:

Background Tab Loading

Yay!

... which is (imho!) only really useful un conjunction with "open that link in a new background tab on middle mouse click" and "close that tab on middle mouse clicking on it" (sort of firefox defaults). that's how i like it (configureable)

byebye...

I'd like to know if there will be a special upgrade discount to 3.0, for people that register now, considering all the time that has passed since the first 2.x release. This would get more people registering now, I'm sure. I know I'd be more tempted myself...
Thanks

Looking forward to this, added features should tie us by.
That is until Ibrowse 3 comes along.
Good Job.

it would be great and useable if IBTeam will copy as much as possible keyboard and mouse shortcuts from Opera. For example - middleclick mousebutton on the link will open it in background tab, or even better - CTRL+mouse wheel up / dn [or + / -] for font resizing / page zooming. Perfect for larger resolutions. Even on my Amiga Emulator 1280x1024, fonts in IB2.3 demo are very small...

I purchased my boxed IBrowse v1.10 back in the day from Oregon Research. I registered with HiSoft. Later on I purchased the v2.1 key in September 1999 from HiSoft.

Now IOSpirit says to register again. I tried, but the IOSpirit web site will not allow me to register. My old Serial Number and the UPC Code from the box must pose a problem. The resulting web page always says: "Status - Failed".

I emailed IOSpirit to ask about this. They returned an email asking me why I wanted to register my IBrowse when my v2.1 key still unlocks IBrowse 2.3.

I am confused. I thought they wanted us to register our copies of IBrowse with them. Didn't they ask us to register? Apparently not.

The feature list is quite cool! This updated release seems to be another milestone in Amiga browsing.
I can't wait... :)

Great work from the IB team!!!!

Where do IOSPIRIT say you should register again? Your old serial number, etc, won't work since IOSPIRIT uses a different set of numbers to HiSoft. There is no need to register your IBrowse with IOSPIRIT if you have already registered it with HiSoft in the past.

You're confused??? Put simply, you bought your IBrowse 2.x key from HiSoft, and you won't need to register your IBrowse with IOSPIRIT until IBrowse 3.0 is released, which will be a paid upgrade for you. New IBrowse 2.x users (who never did register with HiSoft) have no choice but to register with IOSPIRIT, since obviously HiSoft went out of business. The benefit of registering with IOSPIRIT is that you will receive a key, but you already have one, so unless you want to pay for another one, then you don't need to

I don't know. I cannot find this information, but I did not make it up. It must have been idle gossip on this web site. Do you suppose?

This, from the horse's mouth, is good to know. I must have missed this information on the web site.

Yes, I get that way a lot. It helps me deal with life and women.

Ah Ha! Then we do need to re-register when v3.0 is released. I guess I will receive a new Serial Number since my old one is not accepted on the registration page.

Since v2.0 required the purchase of a v2 key, why doesn't v3.0 require the purchase of a v3 key?

Sure I'd like a paid [free] upgrade, but I also want to support our developers. Keep 'em well fed and barefoot, I say.

Perhaps not, but I would be willing to buy a v3 key for v3.0.

@Moxee

Well you missunderstood the whole thing.
He said:

* If you have a valid v2key you will NOT have to get/register a new one.
It will simply work for IBrowse 2.4 for free.

* For IBrowse 3.0 on the other hand you will HAVE TO get a new keyfile and
reregister. And of course pay for a upgrade.
