Announcement   Announcement : New Year Inspection at Elbox
   posted by DJS on 31-Dec-2005 7:39:27 (5053 reads)
Some recent rumours suggest that DRAGON 1200 may not be a real thing.

To dispel all doubts Elbox invited two strongest authorities with proven credibility in the Amiga world to conduct personal inspection at the Elbox facilities.

Read more about it here.

@Elbox

Well, at least you still have a sense of humour, a rare quality in the Amiga community these days

Looks like it could definately run standalone. I like the fact that the memory slots are on the CPU card, it suggust to me that a different type of CPU that may require a northbridge could be provided on a daughterboard.

Dang! The thing is, having an inspection such as this is a *really* good idea... but before I clicked the link, I tried to think of who the two most repsected authorities in the Amiga world would be.

Obviously this answer will vary depending on which site you follow, but the only two that I could come up with as having a large share of the vote are "pancakes" and "socks". Oh dear.

Perhaps Elbox would care to do an inspection like this - only properly, and captured on video - and where the inspectors can connect the devices together themselves and see it all working... I'd suggest sending along DaveyD from here, and Wayne from a.org in order to placate as wide a userbase as possible...

If this manages to come off, and the PowerVixxenLT, and the Amiga PDA, and all the other things that are in the pipeline, then we could end up in "interesting times"...

@Chunder

Why not send along the famous DoomMaster/BoingBoss on inspection so he can check the the board is packaged correctly in the right anti-static plastic and that all contacts are gold plated, made in Germany, has metric military spec screw threads etc.

@Amigaz & @thread

Good God man, if you send all the above mentioned people at the same time, I hope you have an ambulance on hand.

Ok. Going back to my happy place now.

Hmm yeah your right, he looks as if he's started new year celebrations early and is a little worse for wear (propping himself up against the board).

"Pooh I trust so that's fine. Rabbit on the other hand... "

I just googled "Rabbit" and found out he is also known as "Bugs Bunny" or aka BB. As we all know a male rabbit is called a buck. This seems like a thinly veiled consipiracy by the Blue side to corner the classic Amiga market before the release of the Ack's PV.
